Today we feature a wedding captured by Rob Bird Photography of Jemma & Graham’s Rainbow Themed Wedding.
We arrived early for Jemma and Graham’s wedding in Hertfordshire to have a really good look round for the best photo opportunities. I knew the weather was going to be bad and I wanted to make the best of the situation. Jemma and Graham’s theme was Rainbows, all the bouquets, corsages and table flowers were different colours to incorporate this. Luck was on our side, the rain stopped and there were bright skies, although the ladies in high heels did not appreciate the group shots on the grass and there was some light-hearted complaining.
Jemma was getting ready with her very excitable mother, brother, bridesmaids and step father so I was able to get some fun shots of them all. The ceremony was held inside a lovely big marquee but was quite dark so posed some challenges for me. Graham’s dad wrote and performed a beautiful song for the couple and the choir Jemma sings with also performed.
The reception was lively and the speeches were hilarious and also touching, Jemma’s father sadly passed away a few years ago so there were some tears shed at his absence. Just as everyone got up from their tables, a beautiful double rainbow appeared in the sky. This caused Jemma to run screaming with delight into the gardens. Her mother told me she always tells Jemma “if you see a rainbow in the sky, it is your dad watching over you”… very fitting.
