Today we feature Claire & Aidan who got married at Winton House, their beautiful day was captured by Craig & Eva Sanders Photography.
Do tell us about the couple.
Claire & Aidan were absolutely wonderful. Claire is an amazing wedding photographer so we felt incredibly flattered when she got in touch, and a little nervous if the truth be told. We needn’t have worried because the day was a total dream to photograph. We met the guys a year before the big day and knew instantly that we wanted to be involved. Everything they told us about their plans, their outlook, their styling and of course their attitude towards photographs made it a ‘must do’ wedding. Claire is Scottish, Aidan is from Ireland, 2 nations known for their partying so we also knew it would be a lively affair, and we weren’t disappointed.
The day and how it went.
Claire and Aidan’s knowledge of photography and how wedding photographers work was an incredible bonus for us and ,as a result, they gave us enough time to shoot what, how and where we wanted. They understood what we were trying to produce and trusted us implicitly. They chose amazing suppliers and styled the venue beautifully and of course they looked incredible. Even the weather was on our side and the light was perfect. Honestly…it couldn’t have gone any better!
We’ve been together for over ten years and married for 6 of those. We both studied photography ( old school, pre-digital ) for 4 years and assisted some of Scotland’s top commercial photographers. Eva then worked on the picture desk of one of Scotlands biggest newspapers and I started my own commercial photography business. It wasn’t until the advent of digital photography and the revolution in the way wedding photography was shot and more importantly perceived that we found our true calling. We started Craig & Eva Sanders Photography in 2008 and haven’t looked back since. And we have a wee girl called Lila who is our world.
How would you describe your photography style?
Light, bright, natural, flattering, soft, ethereal, timeless and stylish.
What did you love about the day?
Of course I want to say everything. Claire & Aidan, the styling, the venue, the banter, the detail…everything! But the light. For a photographer light is everything and the light, especially in the evening, was just perfect.
