On the site today we feature the lovely wedding of Farah and John who had their special day captured by Matt Selby Photography.
Farah & John tied the knot at Chiswick House, a stunning building in west London with exquisite interiors and stunning gardens (which inspired many other gardens including New York’s Central Park.) This is a wedding I was really looking forward too – my first London wedding and my first Asian ceremony… no pressure then!
The Nikkah ceremony took place at the front of the house in the summer sun – a lovely ceremony full of laughter and colour which proceeded with post ceremony drinks, a selection of mouthwatering canapés, subtle sitar music in the background.
The civil ceremony was held inside the house, a spectacular room with a gold colour scheme, a large dome roof and grand ancient paintings (of immense value) room.
The evening entertainment was an interactive bollywood style dance workshop – After a fantastic and well choreographed dance display, guests of all ages were encouraged to get on the dance floor and try it for themselves.
Here’s some things I loved about the day;
- The choice of venue
- Capturing 2 ceremonies
- The colours and details
- The weather
- The evening entertainment
I’m a contemporary Nottingham wedding photographer. I live with my wife Rebecca and our Australian cattle dog, Bailey.
My style is a mixture of natural photography with subtle elements of fashion. I use whatever light is necessary to capture the perfect image, weather it be natural light or flash.
The latest addition to my kit bag is a 1200W portable flash head, this allows me to shoot on the brightest of days to overpower the sun as well as creating punchy photographs with some wow factor whenever there’s some contrasting clouds outside.
