This collection is all about the dress. It took time to find, it was quick to choose, and it will make everyone go wow, so make sure you have some elegant wedding dress photos on your special day.
Photo by Mick Cookson Photography – This was taken at 30 James Street Hotel in Liverpool. Helen’s dress was hanging up in a room of it’s own. I thought I’d avoid the obvious and make the dress small in frame, using a wide angle lens, a door and some light spill in the foreground.
The Last of the Light
Photo by Aaron Storry Photography – It was golden hour during Lara & James’ wedding at the gorgeous Fawsley Hall in Northants when I invited my lovely couple out to take advantage of the incredible ray’s. As Lara danced in the warm evening glow I shot this frame – a perfect moment in time remembered.
Photo by alexa poppe wedding photography – It snowed so much at jenny and kelvin’s wedding that I got snowed in and had to stay the night. Chaos at first but I loved the photos from this day, which I always will remember. Within hours the place turned into a winter wonderland, a rare sight in Cornwall, so is a wedding dress hung up in the snow…
It Takes Two
Photo by Liam Carroll // ZT Photography – Bridesmaids teamwork…taken at Abode, Manchester.
Dana & Coady
Photo by Jasmin & Matt Photography / Jasmin Pichlyk – A mostly deserted all-inclusive resort with a gorgeous view of the grounds made for a picturesque backdrop with Dana’s boho-chic wedding dress. Photo taken at Riu Palace Riviera Maya, Mexico
The dress in the castle
Photo by Nabis Photographer/ Chiara Ridolfi – I was doing the getting in ready of the bride in the beautiful castle of Bracciano.
Flavia, the bride has 5 bridesmaids and they helped her with the dress.
When I saw them all busy with her dress I shot. I really loved her wedding dress because was very elegant, with a long train.
The Hanging Dress
Photo by Benjamin Stuart Photography – Hanging up a wedding dress can be so cliche. But when the dress by Jenny Packham looks this good and your in a venue that looks like this, well I just had to do it!!!
The dress in rural climate
Photo by Alvaro Sancha – This photograph was taken at a beautiful rural wedding in Tournay (France), just before will dressed Anaïs, the bride. I am in love with rural weddings.
Ready for his big moment
Photo by Modern Vintage Weddings – Little Brooksy, who is Kate the brides dog snuck onto her dress whilst she wasn’t looking and I captured this sweet moment. When I mentioned where he was, Kate said ‘it’s fine he’s had a bath today’
The lady and the bridal dress
Photo by Vonlè Art – The bridal dress of a beautiful young lady whose wedding took place at Sozopol beach on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria.
The finishing touches
Photo by Simon Biffen Photography – The final buttons are being done up by Emma’s sister here in a very candid moment where everyone else had left the room to give her some quiet time before she saw her Father. There was beautiful soft light coming in from the window which helped catch the intricate details on the dress.
Photo by Damion Mower Photography – Jasmine and her girls adding the final touches to the dress.
love is light
Photo by Roney Rufino – A few minutes before the altar, all anxious and euphoric, but a serene, happy and beautiful bride. Nothing matters, love is light.
Photo by Ap-Art Photography – The light at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel combined with its staircase can create some stunning images. This time it wasn’t different…
Bride getting ready
Photo by My Love Momentz Photography / Ivan Lim – The Bride is ready to put on her wedding gown.
The Spinning Bride
Photo by S.R.Urwin Wedding Photography/Steve Urwin – Elle had chosen a very full wedding dress, Her wedding breakfast was at the exclusive 5-star Westminster hotel, St Ermins. The hotel’s entrance and facade of the building are imposing and I wanted shots of the bride and groom in the reception courtyard. When I came to shoot Elle on her own, I asked her to do a 360 degree spin. Her dress opened out and as she twirled back towards the camera lens she threw her head back and laughed. It was very dark outside so I was pleased with how I had lit the dress as well as getting the action shot.
A moment of reflection
Photo by Nisha Haq Photography – A peaceful moment of reflection before seeing the face of the man she loves. Georgie looks incredible in her Eddy K bridal gown, the elegant lace train catching the midday sunlight as she prepares for the wedding ceremony at Audleys Wood Hotel, Hampshire. Love how the bride takes a small moment for herself on this momentous occasion and gathers her thoughts for what will be a day filled with emotions, laughter and love.
Simplicity At Its Best
Photo by Helen-Jane Photography – Chloe’s dress was handmade by her godmother as her wedding gift. It was such a simple design and it looked absolutely stunning on!
Simplicity at its best
Photo by Sally Rawlins Photography – Jazz’s wedding dress was absolutely perfect in its simplicity, and it looked epic hung up in the bridal suite at the venue. She’d opted for a mermaid-style dress by Pronovias, plain yet completely elegant, which accentuated her Ariana Grande-style long dark hair, which she wore down.
When I hung the dress simply next to the mirror and dressing table, the cool grey decor helped make it look incredible. This is one of my favourite shots from bridal prep, it’s a calming image and set the tone for the collection.
The Red Door
Photo by Pure Photo N.I – Our bride and bridesmaid’s for this hotel wedding had stayed at the hotel the night before so they could get ready for the day ahead. The hotel room was a little cramped so we grabbed the brides dress and headed for one of our favourite spots in the grounds around the hotel.
Photo by capture every moment – The Bridal suite at Dumbleton Hall had a beautiful window, which looked like the perfect place to hang the wedding dress. The bride “Ellen” was more than happy to go along with our suggestion and we love the picture just as much as she does!
Photo by capture every moment – This dress photo was taken at Lapstone Barn in the Cotswolds. The Florist “Tiger by the Tail” was busy preparing all of the flowers in the barn for the wedding of Chris & Emma. We saw the opportunity to hang the dress in the door way amongst the flowers, so we quickly arranged the dress and a few tweeks to the flowers and the shot was taken.
The Elegant During The Chaos
Photo by ER Photography – As documentary photographers we don’t as a rule pose the dress, we always give brides a little heads up before the wedding day arrives on how to keep bridal prep looking as pretty as possible.
Claire couldn’t have hung her dress up in a prettier location, here wedding was in a real Castle so it was definitely a princess moment. The light from the window was particularly amazing and during the chaos of bridal prep, the dress stayed majestic in all its wonderful elegant glory and was an amazing backdrop for the bridal prep photos.
Whiter Shade of Pale
Photo by Eye of the Tyne Photography – Following the wedding breakfast I took Robyn and Steven out to do some more couple shots. Unfortunately it had clouded over and the sky was really flat and boring. I had noticed Robyn and a huge train on her dress and her veil was also really long too. I got them to stand on a bank next to the venue, so that they just had the flat white sky behind them. I then got the bridesmaid’s to hold up Robyn’s dress and veil on either side of the couple. I then shot this image slightly over exposed so that the dress and veil almost disappear into the white sky.
Be my dress
Photo by Atken Photography – I shot this within the stunning stately home of Sledmere House in East Yorkshire. Sledmere is a Georgian House – and it is also an Edwardian House. The house is very charming has a great local history and adorned with beautiful architecture. It was perfect with the lighting directly from above and I just knew when I captured this that it had to be in Black and White.
Photo by Jason Williams Photography – To be honest, cathedral veils are a pain. They can fill up an entire room, require constant attention and are hell on the neck muscles in a high wind. Then again, with a little patience, they can yield some lovely results, either accidental, or posed. This shot took me a while as the symmetry was eluding me. But we got there in the end. Despite being basically a street photographer, I do like this image for its almost devotional art quality and simplicity. It’s not something I would usually do but, well, cathedral veils…..got to do something with them!.
Dress with Movement
Photo by Evolve Photography – This photo was taken in a packed reception room The Stables at Upton Barn in Devon.
Jess’s friends were lifting her dress and getting air underneath to snap some Instagram shots of their own (or cool the Bride down maybe!!?)
They didn’t notice me lining my shot up using the beautiful natural light from those huge windows. I just love the texture, movement, how natural it is as Jess didn’t notice me, and of course that light!
Aria and The Dress
Photo by Camilla J. Hards – This was from a wedding the other day. The bride wanted a photo of her little girl looking up at her dress. The light was stunning and little Aria was the perfect model for this shot!
Photo by Liz Greenhalgh Photography – This beautiful Randy Fenoli dress is hanging in the elegant bedroom of Swynford Manor, Newmarket, Cambridgeshire. Every room has amazing copper baths which really complimented this untraditional non-white dress.
Photo by Matt Selby photography – Dress shot lit with the ambient window light with a reflection from a TV on a wall bracket and the bride silhouetted in the bathroom
