Wedding at Vicchiomaggio Castle

We share the wedding of Christian and Sahar which took place at Vicchiomaggio Castle. Their day was captured by Rellini Art Studio.

Christian and Sahar are a german/persian living in California. I first met them in San Francisco where I had the chance of shooting their engagement photos near the Golden Gate. We had so much fun that reaching them in Tuscany on their wedding day has been like meeting old friends.

The ceremony took place at Vicchiomaggio castle in Tuscany, an authentic Italian Villa hidden in the Chianti valley. The day has been a rollercoaster because of the weather: rain chase the sun and the schedule was procrastinated almost two hours. I must admit this delay was useful from a photographic point of view because when we headed for the photo session a mild and colorful sun was setting behind the hills: this gave the touch of Tuscany I was hoping for my couple. Shooting the portraits photos is my favorite part of the day even though I’m usually rushing because of the tight schedule: that’s the moment when the couple runs away from the party and find themselves together for the first time, it’s such a privilege for me to share this moment with them.

Christian and Sahar described the photos as editorial and artistic, though my approach is documentary with a hint of Italian elegance.

My style is influenced by my love for cinema and landscape and I always work “behind the scenes” not to ruin the most natural moments.

Days like this make me suggest to the couples willing to get married to plan a relaxed schedule of the big day so that can enjoy deeply each part of the event, and maybe have wonderful photos at sunset!
