Today we feature the lovely wedding of Vicky and Shawn who has their special day captured by Picturesque, by Mr and Mrs M.
Vicky and Shawn were married at Lodge on Loch Lomond on 30 May 2015. It was a stunning outdoor ceremony with their closest family and friends. It was very much a family event with 20 children present and it was the ideal location right on the beach.
Vicky and Shawn are absolutely meant to be together. It’s impossible not to notice the way they look at each other and you can just feel the love they have. We first met with Vicky when we chatted about our wedding photography and showed her our work. She had been looking at lots of wedding photographers and so we were really pleased when she booked us. We instantly connected with Vicky as we have so much in common, and although we didn’t meet Shawn until their engagement photoshoot we likewise hit it off straight away. They are so easy going and likeable. Together they make amazing parents to their three young children.
We arrived at Lodge on Loch Lomond early in the morning to photograph bride and groom preparations. It’s something we love to do as it gives more to the storytelling of the day. Everything was relaxed and going well. Vicky and Shawn had shared breakfast in the morning before going into seperate rooms to get ready. As is usual the morning flew in with the hustle and bustle of hair and makeup, getting dressed and the excitement in the lead up to the ceremony. The ceremony itself could not have been more beautiful. Vicky was an emotional bride, her marriage to Shawn meant the world to her, and she couldn’t wait to call herself Mrs Doney. The setting was just stunning with Loch Lomond in the background with beautiful sunshine and just the whisper of a breeze. Their humanist ceremony was perfect for Vicky and Shawn’s outlook on life and the importance they place on their family, and it was finished off with a hand fasting completed with a cloth Vicky and spent months embroidering with their names and important dates. It was truly personal and unique to them. After the ceremony we spent some time getting bridal portraits and a relaxed group session before going on to photograph their speeches.
We are Bryan and Stacey, a husband and wife photography team specialising in weddings based in Central Scotland. We love to photograph in a natural, documentary style. We have been in business for just over 2 years now and are only loving the job more and more every day. We feel so honoured that people allow us to be a part of one of the most important days of their lives. We feel we bring something unique to our jobs as we are a married couple ourselves, so know what our couples are going through and can relate to the stress, excitement and joy that they are experiencing.
Our style is very relaxed and honest. What we love to photograph are the actual moments that happen, not something set up and posed.
Vicky and Shawn’s day was just perfect. There are so many things to mention which we loved about the day. Stand out moments include Vicky’s bridal portrait just before the ceremony, she suddenly teared up and Stacey said “You really love him don’t you?”, Vicky replied “Yes I do, I really really do”. Vicky’s walk down the aisle with her dad and her huge smile as she reached Shawn. The lovely relaxed atmosphere of the whole day. The most emotional father of the bride speech we’ve ever encountered. But, above all, the smiles which Vicky and Shawn couldn’t wipe off their faces all day!!
