Photo by Damion Mower Photography – This is Felix with her bridesmaids and mum putting the final touches on her dress.
Find Your Tribe – Love Them Hard
Photo by Jasmin & Matt Photography – Matt Mathieson – Jennifer’s entourage helping with all the last minute details of her dress & ensemble, and this moment just unfolded naturally, and perfectly. Photo was taken at Riu Palace in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Photo by Tony Hart Photo – I normally absent myself at this stage (unless otherwise requested) and ask a bridesmaid to call me when the bride is comfortable having a photographer back in the room. On this day, at Elmore Court, Faye called me in as soon as she was in her wedding underwear. I adore the result. An incredible setting, the most gorgeous light and Faye utterly arresting in an unrepeatable moment.
That moment of realisation
Photo by The Gibsons – I love the pure and honest excitement in this brides face during the final preparations. The lead up to this moment is often surreal and it all sinks in once the whole look comes together and this was such an awesome reaction to it.
Mirror Mirror on the wall.
Photo by Benjamin Stuart Photography – Having a good team of people around you in the morning of your wedding is so important for a Bride. They can help distract the bride from getting to nervous or stressed. They can support and encourage or they can just help get you dressed!!
Mesmerizing the Wedding Dress
Photo by My Love Momentz / Ivan Lim – The Bride is ready, looking at the wedding dress before she puts it on.
Photo by Special Day Wedding Photos – Love this shot of Jazmine applying her makeup just before putting on her dress. Taken from a Beaford House wedding in Devon.
Photo by Special Day Wedding Photos – Love this shot of the bride Emily taken from Mount Somerset Hotel wedding in Taunton, Somerset.
mirror mirror on the wall
Photo by Alexa Poppe Wedding Photography – Lucy and Chris tied the knot at Retorrick Mill in Cornwall. I met Lucy for her bridal preparation photos in her stunning home just up the road. here she is with her maid of honour adding the final touches. Love using the mirrors and reflective surfaces during bridal prep shots.
Everyone get ready!

Photo by Sarah Williams Photography – My lovely bride Helen got married at Lord’s Cricket Ground and got ready at the beautiful Colonnade Hotel, which has wonderful rooms with lots of space.
I wanted to capture Helen having her make up applied in a slightly different way so shot this wide to include some of the rooms furniture and used the window, curtains and the sofa in front of me as a frame.
Photo by Sarah Williams Photography – This photo is of my lovely Bride Tina putting her gorgeous wedding shoes on. I wanted to capture this from a slightly different angle, and as space in the room was a bit tight I simply photographed looking down on her, keeping some of her veil in the frame too.
With Mum’s Help
Photo by Heather Photography / Megan – This photo was taken at a wedding only a few week’s ago in Exmouth- the bride had quite a number of bridesmaids, but chose to only have her Mum in the room when she was actually getting dressed and putting the final touches to her outfit. This was actually at their family home as well, so the entire situation felt very intimate and special.
Photo by Tiree Dawson Photography – Helen in a moment between nerves and calmness, pausing while her attendants make their final tweaks.
Photo by Jeff Sham Photography – Bride was getting ready at The South Lodge Hotel in Horsham, England, and bridesmaids were very excited! It was largely an in-the-moment capture – the only “staging” was bringing the flower girls into the shot.
Photo by Amy B Photography – I love to experiment with composition and framing during all aspects of a wedding day. When I noticed an Orchid plant placed conveniently on Hannah’s dressing table I couldn’t resist shooting through the petals to frame Hannah’s amazing eyes during bridal prep.
Gemma & Lucy
Photo by Mick Cookson Photography – Here’s Gemma getting ready, aided by her sister, Lucy. Gemma was nearly ready to marry love of her life Jake – almost literally next door in church. As the final preparations were finishing, I noticed this large framed painting on the wall and positioned myself to create a mirror image. A simple composition, and an image I’m very pleased with…
Photo by Mick Cookson Photography – Here’s Caroline getting ready for her wedding, flanked by her sister and her mum. I loved the way that the curtains acted like a large diffuser, half silhouetting the girls. A classic, simple shot – and one of my favourite ever wedding images.
Photo by Andrew Billington Photography – Context is everything. Emily getting ready for her wedding day at her childhood home added an extra layer to the bridal prep photography on the day. Including the familiar that she grew up with really added a resonance to the idea of moving into another phase of her life.
Placing her in the mantle piece amongst the familiar family knick knacks as she got into her dress was an obvious thing to do….
Taking a moment…
Photo by Andrew Billington Photography – This is a moment from Aran and Maya’s wedding at Elmore Court in Gloucestershire.
Maya had been ready for a while and was just taking a moment before going down to the ceremony… sometimes it’s the times between doing things that are the most expressive at weddings.
Final check in the mirror
Photo by Paul Gapper Photography – Candid shot of the bride looking in the mirror with the help of her sister.
Cover your eyes!

Mother & Daughter
Photo by Sam & Louise photography – I spotted this scene during prep and thought it was a brilliant contrasting moment. Mother and daughter sitting side by side- together but worlds apart in terms of their priorities in that moment. Both concentrating hard on the task at hand. Mum focusing on make up application and daughter engrossed in her colouring.
Many hands make light work
Photo by Sam & Louise Photography – Wedding dresses are often a team effort to get on and this was certainly the case for Hayley’s gorgeous gown.
Moment of calm
Photo by Hayley Rose Photography – This photo was taken of the gorgeous Hannah at a gorgeous airbnb victorian house in Lewes, ahead of the wedding at Iford village hall just outside Lewes.
This is Hannah and her mum making the final finished touches to her dress before heading of the ceremony.
Bride walking down the stairs before the final parts of getting ready are complete
Photo by Andy Mac Photography and Filming – The Bride was walking down the stairs to have the final touches of white henna make-up applied to her wrists before the ceremony and this quick shot was taken from a different angle to highlight the wonderfully beautiful dress that she was wearing as well as aiming to give the picture a slight air of mystery as you can’t see the Bride’s face. Picture taken at the wonderfully eccentric and luxurious Aynhoe Park.
Photo by Paul Fletcher Photography – A moment of calm in the chaos of a super swift brides preps.
The special reflection
Photo by Nabis Photographers/ Chiara Ridolfi – The bride was getting in ready in a beautiful suite of the hotel “Parco dei Principi” locatec in the center of Rome.
At a certain point the father arrived and started looking at her dear daughter. When I saw his reflex in the mirror with the bride still in the frame I took the picture.
Soon to be Mrs Elliott
Photo by ER Photography – I couldn’t resist this photo, the soon to be Mrs Elliott getting the full on pamper treatment before she get’s in the dress to say I DO at her outdoor ceremony.
Photo by Clare Tam-Im Photography – Bride Emily was being helped into her wedding dress by her bridesmaid Sammy. I saw this mirror and wanted to use it to get a different perspective.
Best friends for life is your sister
Photo by Doville Gail Photography – Twin sister of the bride shares this emotional moment.
Photo by Karolina Kotkiewicz Photography – I just love this simple dreamy photo of the bride getting her make up done with her dress at the background.
