The Mill House Hotel Wedding Day
We feature the lovely wedding of Claire & Nico Filipino that took place on 2nd July 2016. The ceremony was at St Peters Church, Hook Norton, with the wedding reception at The Mill House Hotel, Kingham. The day was captured by Jennifer Sinclair.
Do tell us about the couple
Claire and Nico’s photographer that they had originally booked was moving to New York so the photographer referred Claire and Nico to myself. I had a chat with Claire on the phone and just knew we would get on great. I then met up with Nico and Claire for their pre-wedding photographs in Chipping Camden and had such an amazing time. I knew their wedding day was going to be amazing.
The day and how it went
I arrived at Claire’s parents house and for a while it was just Claire, the makeup artist and myself. We had such a relaxed morning. Claire and Nico were married at St Peters Church, Hook Norton; such a stunning church. The ceremony was beautiful and I loved how happy Claire and Nico were. On route to the wedding venue, there was a little rain, which was perfect timing as Claire and Nico had amazing sunshine all afternoon. The reception was just what Claire wanted – relaxed and chilled with family and friends enjoying their wedding. One of my favourite moments was the time after the wedding breakfast. I captured some amazing photographs of Claire, her sister and flower girls – such a special bond. The golden evening light was amazing.
Do tell us a little bit about yourself
I love being a wedding photographer; it is my lifestyle and who I am. I am very passionate about my business and love the relationships I build with my bride and grooms.
How would you describe your photography style?
Brides say I put them at ease. I am very organized and make sure I capture the key moments of the wedding day. I blend into the wedding day so I can capture the relaxed moments as the day unfolds. I love creating memories.
What did you love about the day?
I loved how happy Claire the bride was; I could tell she was having her perfect wedding day, which was really important to her. I loved creating some amazing photographs and value my friendship with Claire.
What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding day?
Relax and enjoy your day… it’s about enjoying your day as it unfolds and don’t worry about the minor details. Your wedding day will be special to you and it will tell a story of your amazing wedding day.

What can I say about Jennifer that will sum up the amazing job she did on our engagement and wedding shoot? No words will really do her justice… she is absolutely wonderful and I have never seen such beautiful photographs. As someone who hates having their photo taken (and previously had no pictures of themselves that they liked!), I was really nervous about having wedding pictures taken as it’s such an investment and everybody wants to have a good look.
Well I need not have worried. Jennifer put me at ease by text, phone and email before I’d even met her, and I already thought of her as a friend before I’d ever set eyes on her! Our engagement shoot was great – she made us feel so comfortable and like we were having fun, rather than anything formal. The wedding day itself was perfect – Jennifer came over to my house in the morning and felt like part of the family. She was so unobtrusive in her style, but managed to capture everything perfectly. She stayed until the very end of the day to make sure she captured everything, and more besides! What a fabulous job!
The images themselves are stunning. My husband and I, and our families, can’t believe what an amazing job she’s done, and I would recommend her to anyone (as I have been already!). I’d like to think I’ve made a wonderful friend and I hope we’ll work together again in the future.
