This week we chat to Alvaro Sancha in our behind the lens feature where we chat to the people behind the camera.

How long have you been photographing weddings for and how did you get into it?

I have been a wedding photographer for 6 years. I worked as a freelance photographer in agencies and decided to change the news for happy events. I started my brand project and now I am a wedding photographer in Spain

What do you particularly like about photographing weddings?

I like to photograph happiness in general. I think that a wedding is an event where there is a lot of happiness and photography is a very nice way to remember that special day.

What is your favourite part of the day?

I really like the ceremonies, when they say specials words and create sensations that make your hair stand on end. I love emotions.

How would you describe your style and approach?

I always look for photography from a documentary point of view. Like a guest who sneaks in to tell what is happening from within.

Who, or what inspires you?

I’m inspired by cinema, music and, above all, traveling and getting to know new places.

What advice would you give to couples looking for a wedding photographer?

I think it’s an important moment in their lives and choosing the wedding photographer is a big decision and you can not choose anyone photographer.

What tips would you share with couples to help their day go more smoothly?

The experience that photographers have makes us able to tell them a lot of tips, ideas to couples. I always share a lot of information to make your wedding easier.

If there was one place in the world you would love to capture a wedding where would it be and why?

I like to know new cultures through the weddings, but also to be able to make a wedding in a really heavenly place … no matter the exact place.

Finally… Whats the best moment you’ve had as a wedding photographer?

I love when a person takes out their heart and exposes and transmits their thoughts and their love humbly to everyone. I love emotions.
