Glencoe Wedding Shoot by Jacqui Paterson

We feature a beautiful Glencoe Wedding Shoot captured by Chic Photo by Jacqui Paterson, a Scotland based wedding photographer.

The couple

Dominique and Gavin had a big wedding planned out but decided to opt for a small ceremony as planning was getting stressful. I wasn’t available on their chosen day for the ceremony but I suggested just doing an intimate shoot in their wedding outfits in a location of their choice. This way they would have some fantastic photos to remind them of their special time together.

The day and how it went

We agreed to meet in Glencoe at around 4pm to get some great evening light. It was so windy at some points that we were getting blown off balance! The wind died down as we moved locations but the rain was coming in fast so we had to work a bit quickly. The adverse weather made the photos look dramatic and moody.

Do tell us a little bit about yourself

Im a wedding photographer based in Scotland but shoot weddings all over the world.

How would you describe your photography style?

I always like to keep everything natural as possible, aim for great light and work closely with the couple as I believe a bond between us helps them relax more in front of the camera.

What did you love about the day?

I loved that we had nobody else around and no time frame (apart from the rain) – the shoot was a lot more relaxed that your typical wedding day.

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding day?

Make sure you have ample time for photographs. These are the most important part of the day and the part you will look back on for years to come.
