Elmore Court Wedding Day

Today we feature the lovely wedding of Lucy and Adam Buckland who got married at Elmore Court. Their special day was captured by Dale Stephens Photography.

Elmore Court Wedding

I first met with Lucy and Adam Buckland on their engagement shoot which we carried out around the Bristol Harbourside and instantly fell in love with them. They were such a beautiful couple inside and out! One of the reasons I love to do engagement shoots with my couples before their wedding day, it really helps get to know the couple and even make friends.

A little bit about the day and how it went

The whole day took place at Elmore Court which is an amazing wedding venue and really has that WOW factor! The day started with me meeting with Lucy in the Coach House at Elmore Court where the initial part of the bridal preparations took place before moving on to the main house for finishing off.

The ceremony took place in The Hall, a great room for Lucy to make her entrance with an amazing walk down the aisle to meet with Adam.
After the ceremony the drinks reception took place on the lawn of the beautiful grounds, during this time the three of us made use of the stunning interior of the main house and also the grounds to capture some absolutely beautiful portraits of the couple.

The wedding breakfast and after party was held in the newer part of the venue named The Gillyflower.

The day was such a great day that I actually choose to continue photographing 2 hours after I was due to finish!

The photographer

I am Dale, initially I was a landscape photographer (alongside working as a chemist during the day) who became persuaded by friends to shoot their weddings. Now on to my third year as a full-time professional wedding photographer and it is the best decision I ever made. To try and describe my passion for wedding photography is beyond words. This ‘is’ my dream job!!

How would you describe your photography style?

My style as a wedding photographer is largely ‘documentary’ or more accurately ‘candid’ – this is what I love to capture on a wedding day. But not only expressions i.e laughter and tears, but also gestures like the touch or holding of a hand or something as simple as a look. Those are the moments that really tell the stories and bring back memories of someones wedding day.

What did you love about the day?

In all honesty it was Lucy and Adam.

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding day?

  • Make the day about you.
  • Dont stress on the day – there are plenty of people around to help you, even your wedding photographer who can make a great wedding planner as they see all aspects of any wedding day.
  • And take time out together during the day to absorb the moment as your day will be gone in an instant.
