East Quay Wedding of Hetty and Luke

East Quay Wedding of Hetty and Luke

We feature East Quay Wedding of Hetty and Luke who had their special day captured by Howling Basset.

Hetty and Luke currently still live in Hackney, London but are slowly renovating their new home in Whitstable where they’re hoping to move into very soon. Whitstable will be their new home so they decided to hold their wedding here at the rather lovely wedding venue on the beach, The East Quay.

I started the day as always by paying the venue a visit, photograph any details that were ready and leaving my trusty telescopic ladder, which I use for the big group shot.

I’m not sure if I’m the only Kent photographer who brings a ladder to every wedding but I like to decide where the shot happens rather than having to rely on an upstairs window to balcony. I left my car at East Quay and walked down the beach to where the girls were getting ready. I left the preps earlier than I would normally as the couple wanted me to get some shots of the boys down the pub before they all went to the church.

The wedding took place at St. Alphege Church on the Whitstable High Street and after the ceremony everybody walked down to the Duke pub for a drink and from there onto the East Quay wedding venue itself. The afternoon’s entertainment was provided by singers singing old sea shanties, very fitting and the evening was Rockaoke … http://www.rockaoke.com … where the wedding guests literally make their own entertainment. A lovely, lovely wedding with a vibrant couple and equally mad bunch of friends.
