Cala Gracioneta, Ibiza Wedding

Chantelle and Matt’s wedding that took place last summer, on the 5th of September in Ibiza, their beautiful day was captured by local wedding photographer Dario Sanz.

Do tell us about the couple?

Matt and Chantelle knew Ibiza before the wedding and they love it. Actually Chantelle lived and worked for a couple of years on the island. They really knew what they wanted for their wedding and that was a key factor to make the day succeed. They contacted me though my website and after we met in Ibiza before the wedding we got together very well.

Please tell us a little bit about the day and how it went?

The wedding took place in Cala Gracioneta, Ibiza. In this small and intimate beach, is located “El Chiringuito”, an amazing venue. Matt and Chantelle didn’t want a “big wedding”, so the feeling was really familiar and charming; a few guests and all of them very close to the bride and groom. After the ceremony we walked in the surroundings and have a short but nice session of pictures. The wedding was perfectly planned by Lucy from Mambo Weddings, a sister company of the famous Cafe Mambo.

Do tell us a little bit about yourself?

I was born in ibiza and I’m in a long love relationship with the island. I do like to establish a good vibe with the couple and being able to get close to them is my goal. I would define my style as photojournalist, i’m not a big fan of posed pictures, although I always give some directions when I feel that the couple is asking for it.

How would you describe your photography style?

Fresh, natural light based and with a photojournalist approach.

What did you love about the day?

I really loved the people, I think they were really on it and I felt they were joining a big party. I saw them having fun, being in a special place, such a little group… you can tell when the feelings are real… and these one was a real, truly emotive wedding.

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding day?

My advice is always the same, don’t worry too much about the little details. Be focus on enjoying your day, cause everything happens so fast… and get a professional photographer or you probably will end up regretting your choice. At the end, your wedding is one of the most important days of your life.
