Hi, my name is Steve and I am a full-time professional wedding photographer. Good photography is more than a fancy camera. I have spent years perfecting my skill set and countless hours photographing weddings. I know how to get the shot predictably, every time. I know what makes great composition and how to capture feelings and show emotion, in a beautiful way. It isn’t just having a good camera that enables me to do this, rather a combination of all the prior experience and training I’ve had up until this point.
A professional wedding photographer will know the flow of the day. Why is this important? Because having photographed many weddings before, a professional wedding photographer will know exactly where to be positioned for the perfect angle for your first kiss, or when a close family member sheds a tear after seeing you enter the church. You can only know these things with experience.
A professional photographer won’t be phased by bad lighting conditions. Whether it be a dark church ceremony, or an overly bright reception, I will know within seconds where the best light will be, and the best spot to stand.
A professional wedding photographer will know the best way to deal with all the raw emotions of a wedding day – whether it is knowing how to stop Mum panicking, or Dad announcing the time every 20 seconds! A professional, experienced wedding photographer will know how deal with these occurrences, whilst maintaining a composed, and relaxed, demeanor.
After the flowers have wilted, and your guests have all left, the only thing that you’ll have are your wedding photos. It would be a shame to have them anything less than perfect.
I am a story-teller with a non-intrusive style. This is going to be a FUN day because I enjoy my job. We will have all planned ahead so will know how the day is going to unfold. I will have been made aware of those special people who are so important to you and I understand how much time and effort has gone into those little details which will make this day so memorable for you. All will be captured. I will take you away from the fun and laughter for a short time during the day so we can record magical moments of just the two of you alone - maybe at sunset or beneath the stars. But long after the sun has gone down and the party is in full swing, I will still be with you, ensuring that in years to come, you will still be laughing at those amazing dance floor scenes.
Everything! Probably because I never imagined I would do this for a living. I started out photographing in nightclubs, mainly so that I could hang out with my friends, listen to music and take photographs of all the amazing people I met. I loved waking up the next day, seeing all my pictures being used for everyone's new facebook profiles. That was a pretty cool feeling. A couple of years later and my passion had led to my facebook page having over 10,000 likes. Through this, I began getting requests to photograph other things. Before long, I was shooting all kinds of events. From summer balls at Oxford University through to working with national companies. One of these jobs led to an opportunity to get into music photography. Quite quickly, I was shooting artists like Bastille and Rudimental and one of my favourite experiences was photographing DJ Fresh backstage just after he had won an award for hottest track of the year. My picture was requested by a national magazine and so it was around this time that I started to take things pretty seriously.
I never imagined that I would specialize in weddings until friends I had made though my photography started getting married. It was the start of an amazing ride. I continued to push myself, to learn more and to become more creative with my photography.I love to find things that inspire me. I love to find new ways to express how a moment feels, and wedding photography enables me to do this.
I feel lucky that I have the chance to live this life.
Before a decision is made on who you are going to pick, first make sure you CONNECT with your wedding photographer. Make time to get to know each other and then it won't feel like you have invited a stranger to your special day. You will be surprised at what a difference this can make.
