My name is Richard and I’m a creative documentary/reportage wedding photographer based in Bournemouth, Dorset, on the south coast of the UK. I live with my husband and our three beautiful British Shorthair cats (who also pose for their fair share of photos).
I love drinking tea, probably too much, and eating cake. Music is life to me, so I can often be found singing in the shower(badly!). Also, I hate clowns, seriously, they terrify me.
I’ve held a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember and officially started photographing weddings in May 2015 – best decision I ever made. Primarily, I cover the whole of Dorset and Hampshire, but if you’re getting married further afield I’m very happy to travel (especially if you’re planning a destination wedding). In 2019 I’ll be capturing weddings all across Dorset, Hampshire and further afield in the UK. I’ll also be travelling out to Australia to shoot a wedding on a stunning vineyard near Adelaide, bring on the adventure!
On your wedding day, I want nothing more than for you to be relaxed and enjoy every minute as it unfolds, and my photography reflects this perfectly. I’m unobtrusive, snapping away in the background while you dance, drink, catch up with loved ones and have a ruddy good time. Nothing is posed, unless it’s creative. Family photos still get done, but you’ll never hear me shouting “Say cheese!”, not me. I love using bold/unusual backgrounds wherever possible, they’re ace for your couple photos! So if you’re wanting to enjoy your day fully and not have to think about where your next photo will be staged, let’s chat, I think it’ll be fun!
My style of photography is a good mix of creative and documentary/reportage; meaning there will be very little time spent posing with Aunt Maude and Uncle Bob, and more time for you to enjoy your day. I'd say it's about 2% 'posed' shots, 98% candid and 100% fabulous!
Cake. The People. Gin. Cake. Lashings of tea. Oh, did I mention cake?
I love it when a wedding has a great DJ or band, one who's not afraid to spin some Kylie (lol), and awesome wedding bands. I also love it when the couple's friends are completely bonkers and do too many shots at the bar.
