Hi, I'm Liza

for quirky fun loving kind of couples that love photography!

Hi there! Liza here! I’m based in the quirky, alternative city of Brighton on the Sunny South Coast and I absolutely love my job as a documentary wedding photographer. I’ve been photographing weddings for over five years now. I am an adventure-loving, people-loving, love mad wedding photographer!   I love… road trips in my camper, long dog walks, cosy pubs, crazy nights out and singing in my choir! I get a real kick out of connecting with lovely couples, getting to know you and being a part of your wedding day (albeit a fly on the wall part!).

Well that’s a bit about me…. Now it’s your turn! I‘m guessing you guys are an adventurous, fun-loving couple? You don’t mind taking a few risks and you are all about spontaneity and authenticity? Maybe you love this big, beautiful world as much as I do but you are still horrified what we are all doing to our planet? I think it is super important that I connect with my couples and that you feel relaxed and trust me.

So if you like the look of my images and you think we might be a good fit, please give me a bell or drop me an email and firstly see if I am available on your wedding date. Then let’s have a chat over coffee, or zoom and talk about your wedding. I will also show you some more samples of my work and some stunning wedding albums from real clients.
I’d love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have.

Have fun planning your wedding!

Liza xx

How would you describe your style?

What I mean by documentary style is that I take photos of the moments of your day. The fun moments, the cutesy incidental moments, the emotional moments, the nervous moments, the crazy party moments, the candid moments - all of these moments add up to telling the whole story of your wedding day. From beginning to end. So the images you get will be very natural, real, authentic, fun images and with maybe even a few tears! I'm all for genuine laughs, toothy grins, side glances and generally just stuff as it is when it happens. To do this I am very unobtrusive, you will hardly notice me. (This is the fly on the wall bit). I give little or no direction or instructions. Whadda about the portraits?…you must be thinking!! Of course we will get some gorgeous portraits of you both (hopefully in a lovely, natural setting) but we will take them in a fun, unposed very natural kind of way. I do aim to use my creative skills to the max in taking these, always looking for the right light and interesting compositions. 20 minutes tops for your portraits. This leaves you more time to have fun with your family and mates.

What do you love about weddings?

I know I am going to sound really corny but I do love weddings. I find it a real privilege to be doing the most important job of the day (well I reckon so anyway!) I am helping to record and save those wedding day memories for you - what a huge thing to entrust. The other thing I love about weddings is all the love and emotion. (I have been known to cry at the weddings I photograph!). So be warned! But don't worry I still get some cracking images of you, never fear!

Advice for couples planning their wedding?

Ask lots of questions when deciding on your photographer. Check out their website FB and insta pages and portfolios and make sure they have posted images from whole weddings from beginning to end...not just a high lights show. Ask yourself what kind of style do you and your partner prefer? Do you like natural, unposed images or does really detailed, formal or traditional portraits appeal? Some photographers tell great stories with their images some shoot wonderful details and others can spend up to an hour and a half taking stunning formal portraits. Do you like bright vibrant colours or less satuated colours? Its your call. I also think it is really important that you get on with and connect with your photographer...you may have similar likes, dislikes. You are going to spend a whole day with them, it's essential that you communicate before the wedding what you like and what you're after. Then choose a photographer who consistently shows a style that you like and really rocks your boat. Chat with them, find out abit about them and their history, ask what kind of gear they have, what album design or additional services they offer? If what they are saying resonates with you and you love their style and images ...go with them. Trust your gut instinct.
