I really do believe that 90% of your wedding day you shouldn’t notice that the wedding photographer is there. This is the art of real wedding day story telling…blending into the background to let you just enjoy and cherish each moment as it happens. Being discrete and low profile most of the wedding day yet becoming the ‘visible’ photographer for your group photos and creative couple shots.
There are many fine photographers who describe themselves as ‘documentary’ but to me a wedding photographer needs to be more than that. It is the highly creative ‘wow’ shots that I suspect will be on your living room wall and a talking point for many years to come. So an understanding of using light (natural or through lighting set ups) is essential for those creative shots that will be truly unique to your wedding.
I can honestly say that I’ve loved every second (I really have and should you meet me over a coffee I’ll explain why) of telling wedding day stories and I hope that this comes across in the images that I take. Fundamentally I just love seeing the day unfold and the joy and emotion of a good wedding.
I consider myself a modest man, but I think I should mention that I am the current ‘Wedding Photographer of the Year’ (EDP/Bride Awards) for East Anglia. It was my love of photography that drew me into wedding photography and not winning awards for my work but it’s a positive thing to be recognised for my craft.
Thank you for considering me to photograph such a special day as your wedding.
I think to be exceptional at wedding photography you have to excel at many genres of photography such as landscape, portrait, street photography and using artificial and natural light. My style is mainly story telling through a discrete documentary way of working but I also love the creative side so I specialise in achieving as natural look as possible in my portrait shots.
It's difficult to know where to start to be honest. There are so many things but ultimately it's about capturing special moments. Whilst I've laughed, cried and felt emotional at weddings I really can't help but embrace the wedding day whilst preserving those special moments through my images. I've always considered it a real privilege to be chosen to tell a wedding day story and to be honest I think I always will.

Mark photographed our wedding for us on the 8th September at Henham Barns and we couldn’t have wished for better pictures. From start to finish Mark was absolutely brilliant. He met with us a couple of times before the wedding and went through everything we wanted and needed for the day. He managed to capture everything and more we wanted from the day and we are so glad we chose Mark as our photographer. We would highly recommend him to anyone! Thanks so much again Mark !!
We can’t recommend Mark enough! When we met with Mark, we knew that he would portray our story perfectly. He is extremely passionate about his work and goes to extreme lengths to get the perfect picture. Our guests told us that they regularly saw Mark jumping out of bushes or lying on the ground to get ‘that’ shot. Mark expertly blended into the background throughout the whole day capturing very natural shots and everyone was at ease around him. He also brought his personality into the pictures by experimenting with different lighting and techniques to get unique photos that really take your breath away. The pictures were back in just over a week and we were so, so happy with the end result. Mark had managed to capture some masterpieces and we couldn’t be more thrilled. We will have these photos for life and I’ll never get bored of them. We were also fortunate enough to be chosen to feature our wedding in A Suffolk Ceremony bridal magazine which we will treasure. Congratulations to Mark who won the EDP Bride Wedding Photographer of the Year!!
