I’m Gem Wright, a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Northamptonshire but super happy to travel the globe in my quest to photograph the most beautiful weddings, full of fun, laughter and loved-up couples!

My style is partly documentary – capturing the little moments that you may not have been part of on the day and that you can look back on as a couple and smile / belly laugh / shake your heads at! I love to get right in there and shoot the love and fun while being unobtrusive and relaxed. One of the MOST important things for me is to wholeheartedly capture the feelings and emotions of your special day so that when you look back at your images or album, you are right back there in the moment.

I love letting my creativity run wild and working with couples to create unique and artistic images during the private shoot away from the crowd. I am a nightmare in front of the camera having my own picture taken (awkward!) but I absolutely use this to my advantage when taking pictures as we just keep things fun and relaxed – the best pictures come when you are in the moment, not being awkwardly posed! I will give a little direction for posing during our private session after your ceremony, but really, it’s all about YOU and letting your own personalities and love shine through!

My style is pretty relaxed and documentary-esque. I will capture the little moments that you may miss during the whirlwind of your special day. It’s important to tell the story of your day so that when you look at your images, you are right back there in the moment (not remembering how you stood posing in front of the camera for ages!). I love to build a great relationship with my couples and I always feel like we are best friends - we have an amazing time and I make sure I capture the absolute best images of you having the time of your life!

EVERYTHING! Wedding days are just so full of love and happiness - I can’t get enough! It doesn’t honestly matter where you end up getting married, the thing that really matters is that you are surrounded by people you love and who love you just as much in return! This is what I love to catch on camera and look back on when I’m editing. I love the excitement, the love, the fun, the terrible jokes and the flipping fantastic dance moves at the end of the day (which I will totally join you in!)

If you love your photographer and have a great relationship with them, you will be so much more relaxed and happy in front of the camera and your photos will be STUNNING! You need to have confidence in your photographer and trust that they are going to do an amazing job. The images from your wedding day will outlive everything else - choose someone who will tell your story in a way that you are proud to share with your nearest and dearest.
