Hi, I’m Erika, a North East Wedding Photographer based on the Southern border of Northumberland. It’s a great place to live and puts me in the ideal spot to cover all the incredible wedding venues the North East has to offer.
I specialise in candid, natural wedding photography, full of colour and light.
My wedding photography is all about capturing the moment and preserving memories in a beautiful and artistic way. Every wedding is unique, as is every couple, and I think your photography should reflect that. Bright, colourful images that reflect the joyous and happy moments throughout your special day. I will blend in with your day and capture everything from the fine details through to the important events. Guests and hatpins, place settings and kisses, cake cutting, bouquets, and that look you shared when you saw each other for the first time.
I don't go in for lots of posed pictures, I prefer to point my camera at the genuine moments throughout the day. After all, you want to spend time with your loved ones, not your photographer.
I love my job; I am responsible for keeping the memories of your wedding day sacred, and it is my duty to do that in a way that celebrates you and your loved ones. That's pretty special. I am entrusted to bring my unique style and artistry to capture your day, and I know how important that is.
I get to spend my days working with people on the happiest days of their lives, and that's amazing.
I'm sure you've seen lots of posts about how to choose the perfect photographer (looking at style, budget, professionalism etc.) so hopefully my answer is a little different and can give you a new perspective.
When you look into your future, and see yourselves years down the line looking at your wedding pictures, what do you want to remember? Your wedding photographs are your memories of this most special occasion. So what is the most important thing about your day to you? Do you want a formal record of all your guests lining up for the camera? If so, then choose a traditional photographer who is skilled in group portraits. Is the most important thing spending time with your guests and having fun? Then choose a photographer whose work showcases those types of candid reportage style images.
There's no right or wrong when it comes to matters of taste. Find someone whose work speaks to you, and don't compromise: when the cake has been eaten and the flowers have faded your rings and your photos are the keepsakes you hold forever.

Erika shot our wedding at Wynyard Hall in the spring and she was an absolute dream on the day. The final photos were stunning, and we still look back at our album even now. I can't recommend Erika high enough!
