I think my pictures say more about my style than I ever could - I make sure we have fun making the images and that then shows in the finished result. That way the pictures become unique to you - less posing and more prompting (and a bit of direction) so you both make the pictures just as much as I do.

I have actually heard wedding photographers say "[sigh]....another wedding on Saturday....same play with a different cast...I get bored doing weddings" and I think, well then you must be doing them wrong. Wedding photography has to be one of the most rewarding jobs ever - and one of the most demanding. A couple and their families have brought you on board to capture memories of a one-time event, with all the fun and emotions that come with it. As their photographer you become intimately involved in their day, from calming nerves (apparently I am very good at this!) to fixing buttonholes and ties, and making sure the day's schedule is adhered to. You honestly feel like a new family friend by the end of the day.

I suppose the bottom line is whether you like their work or not. Ask them if they can show you a full coverage of a wedding day, from soup to nuts. Try and get a feel for who they are and whether you think you will all get on, and if they offer a pre-wedding meet or shoot then take them up on it - I do lots of these and they make such a difference. A surprising number of brides and grooms don't think they look good in pictures, and I guess people don't look at their best taken on a phone at arms length! Let your photographer guide you and help you to relax. I have lots of ways of doing this (hint: I never tell a bride or groom to "smile". Instead, I make them smile....)
