Barbican Conservatory Jungle Wedding

We feature this lovely Barbican Conservatory Jungle Wedding on the blog today captured by Emma-Jane Photography.

About the couple

Rebecca and Dan are an amazing couple who wanted a wedding that mixed a jungle theme with the concrete jungle of London… and what better place that the Barbican Conservatory.

Please tell us a little bit about the day and how it went

Rebecca and Dan both got married on separate floors of the Ace Hotel in shroeditch, a super stylish space which lead to some really great getting ready shots. Rebecca opted for a slim cut vintage inspired gown, I adored all of the beading and detail work here. And choosing bottle green silk dresses for her bridesmaids. With Dan choosing a stylish open color no tie white trouser and shirt with royal blue velvet jackets for all of the boys. Leading to a super stylish bridal party!

From there it was a black cab to the Barbican conservatory. These guys were lucky with a lovely sunny day, casting great lighting into the conservatory as Rebecca walked down the isle. We were able to get some great shots of the couple around all of the amazing architecture around the conservatory, placing them high into the layers as well as having fun with their bridal party amongst the leaves!

They has jungle inspired table décor, with personalized leaves for table place settings as well as an epic jungle cake with a miniature version of them sitting on one of the tiers.

The day was followed by dinner and speeches in between courses, with very personal and funny speeches! Next up, dancing and a photobooth! A super fun day to capture!

Do tell us a little bit about yourself:

I am a fashion inspired wedding photographer based in London, covering UK and international wedding. Having been lucky enough to photograph weddings in Italy, Malta, Atlanta, Qatar and Santorini.

How would you describe your photography style?

My style of wedding photography is inspired by my fashion photography side of the business, looking at styling, angles and editing to make a the wedding images fashionable but still relatable and real to the couple. I look especially at details and backdrops that other photographers might miss.

What did you love about the day?

My favorite time of the day is the couple shots, it allows my couples the private time to be together, for probably the first time that day! So it naturally provides me some loving, fun and relaxed content to shoot… getting my couples at the best. It allows me to play with backdrops.. and great lighting.. especially at golden hour… the most romantic lighting of the day.

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding day?

Make sure that you allow enough time for each element of the wedding day. The day will go so so fast! So if something is expected to take 20 mins… allow 30mins …. this way you have a contingency in case anything runs over. Such as my bride walking from A to B will take longer than in her wedding dress than jeans.. so make that you are thinking through each element. I often guide on timings … Hey… I’ve shot enough weddings to become a bit of an expert of on wedding day planning.
