My typical clients are after a 'no-fuss', unobtrusive photographer who will make them feel at ease in front of the lens. I understand that although you might like some portrait photos together (because let's face it, you're gonna look great), you don't fancy spending hours posing and being asked to smile at the camera on your wedding day. My style is mostly documentary, I tell the story as it really happened, alongside some natural, relaxed portrait photos of you both and some family formals (mainly for mum & dad's mantlepiece). I'm there to tell your story, not create it! My 'fly-on-the-wall' approach is always praised by my couples, one bride saying, 'no offence, but I kind of forgot you were there' No offence taken! I never want you to feel conscious of being in front of the camera.

I deliver most of my photos in colour reflecting the style you'll see on my website; keeping colours true to life and rich, influenced by film photography. Though, I do love black & white where appropriate!

Big question! Weddings are the epitome of happiness, love, commitment and celebration. So what's not to love there?

My top moments though are usually:
1) The dancing: I'll be smiling ear to ear. I usually stay a while after the first dance, until the party descends into a dancefloor of delirium. Plus, there's nothing better than granny getting her groove on.
2) The speeches: I will be laughing (and crying!) with you.
3) The vows: witnessing the moment you make your promises to each other makes me go gooey.

When looking back at your wedding photographs together in 20 years, how do you want to feel? What kind of images will take you right back and make your heart swell?

If I was in your shoes right now, I would be in search of someone who offers a style that is contemporary yet timeless - a phrase that's thrown around a lot - but which basically means is elegant & modern, more documentary focused, but isn't all about the current trends, so that you photos will retain their beauty later down the line.

Most importantly, the photographer will be one of few strangers at your wedding, so it helps to find someone you can connect with. If you have an awkward or uncomfortable relationship with your photographer, when you look back at your wedding photos, you will be reminded of those feelings.
