Today we feature a lovely engagement shoot captured by Jennifer Sinclair, the gorgeous couple are Laura & Miles.

Laura and Miles
I had worked with Laura some years ago and was so delighted when she made contact with me back in September last year to talk about taking her wedding photographs. Laura and Miles are an amazing couple and it was an absolute pleasure to take their engagement photographs. Both Laura and Miles are both outdoor and sporty people so a rural setting in the countryside was perfect for the day. Their wedding is to take place at The Manor Hotel, Castle Combe. Castle Combe is one of the prettiest villages in Wiltshire with it’s Cotswold stone buildings so finding an engagement shoot location similar to their wedding venue was perfect. I came across an amazing location called ‘Bow Wow’ a pathway through the older part of the Gloucestershire village of South Cerney.

About the Day
South Cerney has some amazing railway bridges which are absolutely perfect for portrait photo shoots. The actual bridge that I had intended to take Laura and Miles to had scaffolding around it so a friend told me about similar bridges at Bow Wow. How the name Bow Wow came about is not really know but love the way it makes it an intriguing location. After a cold and windy start to the day, by the time I met up with Laura and Miles, the weather was gorgeous. We had a relaxed time strolling down the lane with it’s hanging willows trees reflecting in the mill stream. We stopped for a little while as we crossed the river bridge and watched the stream go by. A little further down the lane we came to the amazing railway arches which was once part of the Midland & South Western Junction Railway. Although the bridges comes to a dead end, it was the perfect location to capture some amazing engagement photographs. The bridges create an amazing tunnel effect and look fantastic in black and white. With the bridges to the side, there was an amazing spot for Laura and Miles to sit amongst the ripe green foliage and enjoy the beautiful sunshine behind them. I loved the way we all had such a fun and relaxed afternoon.

About Jennifer
I absolutely love my photography and spending a day like the one with Laura and Miles is truly amazing. I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Hampshire but cover not only Hampshire but Wiltshire and Surrey too. I’m very girly and love all things love pastel, rustic, floral, shabby chic and my branding style comes with a nostalgic vintage feel. I’m a bit of a ‘miss-organised’ and always looking things that inspire me and innovate my business. My photography business is a lifestyle for me.

My style is natural and relaxed. It is always such a pleasure and privilege to be asked to take wedding photographs and be part of a couple’s special day. I love working with people and really getting to know couples during their engagement photo shoot is perfect, I do believe it is really important to have a personal connection with the people I photograph. The things that surround me in my every day life inspire me; I love the countryside, and the use of natural light for creating beautiful photographs.
