I was a mental health nurse before becoming a wedding photographer. I know - a vast career change but both these career choices mean you have to be great with people and to be switched on and alert to notice things/ moments that are happening around you. I love working with people and I have an uncanny way of being able to read people easily and sense when something is going to happen. This truly enhances my ability to capture true and honest moments in the world of photography and I would describe my photography style predominately as reportage. I love watching for the tears, the nerves, the laughter and, most importantly, the love.

What is not to love about wedding photography? I have spoken to many people over the years that either say I have got the best job in the world or the most difficult. It's hugely stressful, you only get one chance to get it right, you work long days and you're on your own a lot. This is all true but I don't view it like that at all. I get to be surrounded by two sets of families and friends that are united together celebrating the marriage of two wonderful people. I get to capture probably the best day of that couples lives. My work is appreciated and valued for years to come. I am surrounded by smiles and laughter and special moments happening all around me. My eyes and heart see all these wonderful moments happening and with my camera I am able to record it. That's what I love about wedding photography.
