I’m Olly Knight, a wedding photographer who photographs weddings in my home county of Kent, the UK and overseas as a destination wedding photographer. I photograph weddings in a natural, unposed and documentary style. I love what I do! I started in 2011 offering to photograph a friend’s wedding and since then I’ve photographed over 350 weddings!

I never get bored of weddings as each one has been wonderfully creative with different people to meet and different personalities to document. I really love what I do. I feel privileged to have got to know and have become friends with so many lovely couples and have picked up a few awards for my work along the way too. I’ve shot so many different types of weddings- Castle weddings in Tuscany, intimate weddings in a house by the sea, Cathedral weddings, weddings in the woods, DIY weddings where the Bride and Groom have made their own venue, rural barn weddings and a garden restaurant wedding in Serbia.

Documentary wedding photography is all about capturing the real moments and honest emotions in a non-obtrusive way. Weddings are fantastic to photograph as they are great celebrations where laughter and tears are never far away. When I photograph weddings I’m warm, friendly and relaxed. I wont be shouting at anyone to be anywhere, I’ll just be following what actually happens.

The couples that I work for tend to be fun, creative and relaxed couples who want the moments and the atmosphere of their big day captured without having to stand around for hours saying cheese! After weddings the Bride and Groom say that I blended into the wedding and it was like having another friend at the wedding but with a camera. After the big day I get working on the images and I provide clients high resolution colour and black and white edited images in super speedy time.

I photograph what I see unfold before me! I don't pose anyone, I don't direct anyone to be anywhere, I simply follow the action on your wedding day getting the moments that I know will mean a lot to you. Most couples that I work for tend to be fun, relaxed and want the atmosphere of their wedding days captured. I blend in like a guest with a camera at weddings and get to know people to put them at ease. Most couples that I work for say to me afterwards that they hardly noticed I was there for lots of the day!

I love the people more than anything else- the fun, the laughter and the spontaneity that can happen at weddings. I love that I get to meet so many different people at weddings and that I get to travel to so many interesting places. I never thought that I'd be dancing with a Serbian brass band in Belgrade or strolling along the vineyards in Tuscany or out in a rowing boat on a lake with the Bride and Groom all to do what I love as a job.

You've got to choose a photographer who's style fits with what you're after. If you want tons of group photos I'm not your man. If you want the atmosphere and moments from your wedding day captured then my style is probably more fitting for you. You've got to feel comfortable around your wedding photographer so I'd recommend having a phone call or meeting up with the photographer ahead of booking.
