For me, wedding photography is about two things – real moments and beautiful portraits.
Ultimately I want to document your wedding day so that when you look back, not only do you remember what your day looked like, but also how it *felt*.
To do this I capture the real emotion and the real moments of your wedding day by observing your day rather than setting things up and asking you to do things. I believe that the more natural and relaxed you are, the more real your photographs will be. All I want you to do is enjoy what will be one of the best days of your life. All the while I will be there capturing the genuine feelings and emotion of your day.
As well as this though I absolutely love spending a short amount of time with you both to take some beautiful portraits. I like to do this in the middle of the day for a few minutes, but also in the evening too where we can hopefully make use of the beautiful evening light. If we aren’t blessed with great light then I love to get creative and by introducing my own lights we can create some really spectacular portraits.
I have won the BIPP North West Wedding Photographer of the Year award 3 times now and have also been named in the Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the UK in both 2016 and 2017 by the Masters of Wedding Photography.

For like to cover the vast majority of a wedding day in an unobtrusive and reportage type style. I want my couples to feel totally relaxed and to do nothing other than enjoy their wedding day. The more relaxed my couples are I feel the better my photographs will be so I try to be as unobtrusive as I can be for the majority of the day.
The exception to this is for your group photographs and photographs of the two of you together. As much as I love to capture real moments and real emotion, I also love taking portraits of you both and I like to do this using a combination of natural light and then, as the light fades in the evening, I then use my flashes to create really cool and unique portraits.
I find that this combination of the reportage coverage and creative portraits works really well and gives my couples a set of images which they will love to look back on.
Where to even start?!
There are so many things which I love about weddings, but ultimately, it is about the moments. Being witness to so many beautiful, emotional and heartfelt moments is an absolute privilege and for a photographer like me, who absolutely loves photographing real emotion, wedding days are a blessing.
It is also about happiness. It is absolutely incredible to be asked to be a part of a day which is going to be so full of happiness and laughter and to be there knowing that I can capture those feelings is what makes this such a special job.
It sounds obvious but I think you have to choose a photographer whose work you absolutely love, because then you can just relax on your wedding day knowing that it is being captured for you in a way which is perfect for you. When you love someones work you will also find it easier to put complete trust in them too, which ultimately will help your photographer.
It is also really important that you choose a photographer who you feel comfortable to be with. Your photographer will be with you for a large part of your wedding day so it's important that you feel totally relaxed with them.
