I’m a Yorkshire based UK documentary wedding photographer who captures people as they really are.
I will do exactly what you ask me to do although of course I can offer suggestions based on my experience if you need some advice. Your wedding is unique and I will treat is as such. I don’t have a set template to follow, I go with the flow, take the pictures you want and fit in however suits you best.
Wedding photography with a difference.
I don’t want to give you the same ‘traditional’ photos that everyone else has, nor would you get the same photos that I’ve taken for other couples. I want to tell your story and give you really cool photographs that will take you straight back to what was happening and how you were feeling at that very instant.
“Bonkers” is what I’ve been called by some of my couples. Who wants to be ‘normal’, the same as everyone else? I don’t do normal. I do unique. It’s not a photo shoot, it’s your story. Life is beautifully unpredictable, so you can expect the unexpected! There are no rules! You might call it documentary or reportage photography, you wouldn’t call it formal.
I love observing people and taking pictures that really nail personalities and characters, showing real people being relaxed and natural. I prefer to avoid “wedding faces” and awkward poses, clichés and cheese. And there’ll definitely be NO RULES! Imagination and creativity are everything and I like injecting a little mischief, having fun and going with the flow. I believe it’s all about spontaneity, fun and trust. I capture the characters in your story; the excitement; the fabulous chaos (maybe!); the natural laughter and joy (and tears); and the tender, intimate moments that will effortlessly punctuate your day.
I'm a UK documentary photographer. I capture your day, the emotions, the fun, the atmosphere, happy faces and everything in between. I'm a story teller and I want to tell YOUR story. By capturing what happens and not setting it up it makes every day unique.
I love people! Photographing someones wedding for me is all about connections, how family members connect, the emotions between bride and groom. There's so much going on during a wedding and I love every second of it. I also love drunk dancing!!!
Find someone who you get on with. Love their work, If you want formal photography don't ask a documentary photographer to be your photographer and adapt. Look for someone who excites you. Don't go for the cheapest. Wedding photos are so important so make sure you place this high on your agenda but most importantly you must get on with the person.
I travel all over the UK photographing weddings. I require travel expenses and maybe accommodation if the wedding is over 50 miles from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
