The Isle of Skye is the perfect romantic location for an elopement or a tiny wedding and I am so incredibly lucky to be able to live and work here, photographing couples from all over the world who choose Skye for their destination wedding.

I specialise in elopements and tiny weddings because I love their intimacy. There is nothing more satisfying than capturing the connection between two people and hopefully that intimacy and emotion shows in my work.

I’ve always been a total romantic and as someone who loves meeting new people, photographing weddings is pretty much the perfect job for me. It’s an added bonus that I grew up and live in such a spectacular landscape where people want to marry. It also means that I know lots of secret, remote locations as well as having great relationships with the best local suppliers.

When I’m not photographing couples, I live beside the sea with my husband and dog, tending to our chickens, sheep and pigs and doing a big of gardening. Life is good.

Choosing someone to photograph one of the most special days of your life is an incredibly important decision. Not only do you have to like their work, you need to feel comfortable with them and trust them. Having a meeting or a Skype chat is a great way to get to know your potential photographer to get a feel for whether you feel at ease with them.

Make sure too, that you see plenty of the photographer's work, so you know that their style is consistent and that their style is what you are looking for.

Finally, costs can mount up but remember that the photographs are the only thing that is around forever so choose wisely.
