I think that the relationship between us is one that should be nurtured and developed in the months leading up to the wedding. I like to meet my couples at least twice before the big day, have a long lunch and chat about the details, and get to know each other, so that not only can I ensure I fully understand what is and is not important to you, I can get a feel for who you are, as individuals and as a couple and in turn, you can feel completely relaxed and confident in me and the part that I will play in your wedding.

​Come the day, I am there for you, however you need. Tucked away and unobtrusive, or wearing my bossy hat and corralling your extended family together for a group photograph. If the maid of honour can’t do up the buttons on your dress because her nails aren’t dry, I’ll put down my camera and lend a hand (true story). A youth spent in the hospitality industry has left me with a passion for delivering excellent service, for getting the job done, and for going above and beyond expectations.

As a wedding photographer, I lean towards a documentary style, blending into the background and capturing those magical moments without breaking the flow of things. I look for stories and themes, for those funny little moments in between the big moments, I look for personal journeys, and I don’t shy away from capturing the less-than-perfect moments, because they are part of the story of you and your day.
However, I am also an advocate for getting some nicely arranged and posed photographs in the bag! The ones where everyone is smiling in the same direction, looking their absolute best, the pictures that grandparents will frame and put on the mantlepiece - although the current fashion is for candid photographs all the way, I do believe those ‘posed’ pictures have their place too!

Having said that, my most important objective is to make sure that the soon-to-be-weds have a chance to express what they want from their photographer and photographs. If you really don’t want any posed pictures, that’s fine, if you don’t want any candid shots at all, that’s fine too, I’m nothing if not flexible!

I LOVE weddings!! When love is the topic of the day, it is the BEST thing in the world! The joy, the drama, the visual beauty, the emotions, the words, the music, the food, the dancing, the flowers, the outfits, the hats, the shoes, the button holes, the children, the tears, the smiles, the friendships, the little things that go awry, the promises, the gravitas, the pride, the jewellery, the name cards, the forks clinking on glasses, the traditions, the sore feet, the laughter, the confetti, the hundreds of little things that make each wedding unique, and the thousands of steps that lead to the moment where two people finally say; “I do.”
These are just some of the things I love to capture, in order to tell each unique story as honestly as possible.

It's easy to get overwhelmed with choices, so I suggest you don't look at too many at once. Make contact with no more than 4 photographers to start with. If you don't uncover 'the one' in that 4, try again with another 4. If you listen to your gut, you'll find your perfect photographer in no time at all! Good luck!

I cover London, Hertfordshire and Sussex with no travel expenses added to my invoice, for places further afield I will include travel and accommodation costs to my invoice. I don't have a maximum distance - I'm happy to go anywhere in the world!
