Imogen is a Fine Art Film Photographer who is inspired by her surroundings on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset where she lives. Photographing people is something which Imogen has a passion for and to be allowed to document some of the most precious moments in peoples lives is something which she feels truly blessed to be entrusted with. She has style which is natural and relaxed, with feminine accents. She manages to capture those timeless moments, showing their stillness and tranquility, in a fast ever changing environment. Imogen has an innate ability to focus on the most simple of things; a touch of a hand, an uncontrived moment of proudness in a parent’s eyes.
One of the most important aspects of Imogen’s projects is the input from those whose day it is. She wants to help the happy couple tell their beautiful and intimate story. The hope Imogen has is that the photographs she takes will be cherished dearly and invoke everlasting memories to those that see them.
My style is soft and relaxed yet feminine. Even within the fast moving moments of a wedding day I make my focus on the the gentle details, a kiss, lovers hands touching, a genuine smile from a proud parent. However you decide to develop your perfect day my aim is to create photographs that tell an intimate and beautiful story. My hope is that you can hold onto and visit these memories you cherish so dearly for years to come
I love the atmosphere, people are so happy at weddings! To witness two people declaring their undying love for one another is such a privilege. Let alone document it for them!
I suppose initially the most important thing is that you like their style of work and respect them as a professional. Many photographers fill their portfolios with beautiful images, but are they realistic? Are they overly styled? Often many photographers publish photographs that have been taken during styled shoots, although these images are beautiful often they work alongside stylists and models. Sure anyone can take stunning images if they have 4 hours to take portraits. However, this isn't a realistic approach and I guarantee that with the fast moving timeline of your wedding day the images they produce would be very different. You need to see real weddings on their portfolio, real genuine proof that this photographer has the ability to create magical images under pressure. A mixture of portraits, details, group shots, candid moments between guests. Moments that aren't staged or posed or repeatable. Hands touching, a genuine smile from a proud parent. That moment the groom sees his bride for the first time. Those moments are what graft a genuine story. Photos that jog memories as you flick through the pages of your wedding album years later. I also feel that choosing a photographer that shoots analogue film is so important. Film has made a u-turn in the wedding industry. The reason being that it truly is authentic and when shot correctly can produce images that are flattering and luminous. Skin tones and colours are my main reasons for using film, even in low light film has the ability to bring your photos to life!
