Beautiful Photography from Chris Mann
After spending seven years shooting glamorous beach and resort weddings in the Turks & Caicos Islands in the Caribbean, I’m now back in the UK and aiming to bring a bit of that Caribbean sunshine and style to British weddings. Not so easy given our weather perhaps, but the variety of people and locations I’ve worked with has given me the ability to create great photos no matter what the situation.
My main aim is to be as relaxed and unobtrusive as possible – my clients often comment on this – so that you can enjoy your special day without feeling “bossed around” or having to smile for the camera all the time. I shoot a mix of documentary coverage with traditional family formals, and typically take the bride and groom off on their own for half an hour or so to create some romantic images of just the two of you.
I am happy to travel, so even if you’re not getting married in Surrey or the surrounding area please do give me a call. One benefit of having worked overseas is I am able to deal with all kinds of locations and lighting situations!
My wedding photo packages all include digital files on disk, but I also offer a range of high-quality albums which I feel are the best way to preserve your memories long-term.
I look forward to meeting you.
I am primarily a documentary wedding photographer - unobtrusive and capturing the moments of the day. I do direct when necessary - setting up family groups for example. I will also create some stylish posed images of the two of you. Most of the time I use natural light but I am skilled at working with flash when necessary - especially for the creative shoot with the couple and for capturing the dancing. The word my clients use most often to describe my approach is
A wedding is a joyful event that brings two families and multiple generations together, and it's a pleasure to document that for my clients. Also, although most weddings follow the same general pattern, each is unique in terms of the location, time of year, and the personalities involved. So weddings to me are endlessly fascinating things to photograph.
First of all plan carefully how much coverage you want on the day, and allow for things to overrun. Most photographers will be willing to stay later if necessary, but there may be an extra fee to pay and it's better to get the timings right when booking. Obviously make sure you like the way they shoot, but do discuss your preferences with them in advance - you don't want to hire a pure photojournalist if you actually need a lot of formal posed groups. Look for evidence of solid craftsmanship; a funky edgy style may be cool now but in a few years may look horribly dated.
I am happy to travel anywhere in the world
