I have the best job in the world. I document love. For too long I worked in a corporate role, sat behind a desk, where I felt trapped and had this itch that ‘something wasn’t right’. Luckily, I got made redundant and this gave me the confidence to be brave and GO FOR IT! I’ve not looked back since.
I now shoot weddings throughout the year and get to know couples in the lead up to one of the best days of their life. I’m fortunate to have stayed in touch with many of my past clients and have received so much lovely feedback it really is a pleasure to do this job.
My wedding package typically provides you with:
– a minimum of 400 images (I often deliver a lot more),
– all images are individually edited – I don’t use mass presets, each image is hand reviewed.
– a minimum of eight hours coverage
– private, password protected online gallery for you to enjoy and share with family and friends.
– lots of little surprises along the way!
I also offer beautifully modern, contemporary wedding albums.
I’ve photographed weddings from the Matara Centre to South Farm, Kingscote Barn to Orchardleigh. Whatever you plan to do and however you plan to do it, I’d love to be there.
Natural, I try to focus on the emotion on the day, as well as taking detail shots of all the important parts that tell the story of the day (the venue, the dress, the shoes etc). I like to have some fun too and like to get those shots that maybe you didn't see, the awkward expressions, the laugh out loud belly howl, the tears, the dancing and all the hugs. I tend to blend in to the wedding party and find this helps guests to feel relaxed around me. My style is simply to produce natural yet fun and creative wedding photography.
The nerves before the ceremony, the anticipation and excitement, the moment when two souls are married, the giddiness that explodes on the dancefloor as the party begins, the noise and the smells, the emotion of two families and lifelong friends. Weirdly, I also love editing weddings when I get home after, I get to spend time going through really carefully every part of the day again, so I kinda get to enjoy a wedding twice! Plus, I also love to surprise my couples along the way - this isn't just about the day, its about the lead up to the day and the planning so I try to make that fun and informative too.
Do you really love their work? or does it just feel 'ok' ? You want to LOVE it. Look at the quality of their photographs in their portfolio - is their a mixture from all parts of the day? Do you love the style of their work. Ask to see a full gallery of images from a real wedding, they should be able to provide you with the password of a recent wedding, this will give you a full idea of how they shoot. Check the contract carefully and ensure you understand the terms & conditions you're booking. Make sure you feel comfortable with them, for example if during the morning of your wedding you became upset or stressed would you feel comfortable with them around? Are they insured - check?
I am happy to travel, for weddings over a certain distance I ask for overnight accommodation or contribution to mileage.
Asking Becky to be our photographer was one of the best decisions we made when looking back at our wedding day. The pictures from the day are amazing and everyone loves them, so many friends and family have commented on how good they are. As a person that is constantly with you on the day, she helped ease any nerves, and for me, who is someone who hates having their picture taken, made the photos side of things enjoyable and not so stressful.
