Steve and Kirsty ‘s Wedding Day
We feature the lovely wedding of Steve and Kirsty who got married at the Walled Garden, Cowdray in Sussex and has their special day captured by Sue Kwiatkowska.
Steve and Kirsty met at a friend’s wedding and found out they only lived a tube stop away from one another in London so meeting up again was a no brainer. Fast forward a couple of years and Steve proposed to Kirsty on a crisp, January morning in Amsterdam! Steve and Kirsty are such a great couple, relaxed, friendly and an absolute pleasure to be around. Kirsty is also very crafty and has since gone on to set up her own flourishing business, makedoandtrend.co.uk, running wedding workshops for the DIY bride.
The Wedding Day
The wedding took place at the Walled Garden, Cowdray in Sussex. A beautiful venue with an intimate feel, chock full of blooms, old stone walls and the perfect backdrop for a vintage DIY wedding. Kirsty and Steve really had gone to town on the details, including handcrafting the invites and sourcing vintage tea caddies which were filled with flowers for the table centrepieces. The day was relaxed throughout with the focus on personal meaning, family, and their future married life together.
What I Loved About The Day
The best thing about shooting weddings is seeing a couple mad, crazy in love with one another like Steve and Kirsty are. I loved the laid back feel to the day from the lawn games to ice creams outside after dinner and that it was visually delightful in all respects!
I live in Brighton by the Sussex seaside with my two young daughters and have been shooting weddings for a good few years now! When I am not shooting you’ll more often than not find me pottering about in boutique furniture shops, taking in the sea air and plotting outings and adventures with my girls.
I’d say my style is relaxed (with a little bit of light direction where needed!) and pretty with the focus on a wholesome, feel-good, family-oriented, fuss-free approach.
