Today we feature a lovely elegant wedding of Amy & Joel captured by Fiona Walsh Photography, a wedding photographer based in Devon.
Over to Fiona for an insight into this gorgeous day.
Beautiful, elegant, romantic, and ‘floaty’. This is how to do an English wedding in the country! The details that they chose for their wedding really did create that dreamy look that they were going for.
They chose a baby blue colour for the bridesmaids while the incredible flowers had soft touches of pink and cream with green foliage.
Just wait until you see their dining room! They completely transformed their village hall into a ‘secret garden’ with hanging baskets from the ceiling and wild flowers on the tables. They complimented this with servings of fresh salads and greens with warm crusty bread resting on each table.
Amy chose a really elegant lace gown to wear. With her cathedral length veil and gentle curls in her hair it was no wonder there were some tears. Her parents were so proud. As for the groomsmen, they were dressed in black tie with thick black waist belts. It was like there were lots of James Bond’s everywhere! They looked impeccable.
After the emotional ceremony I stole the gorgeous couple away from the wedding party for half an hour and found this amazing field with rolling hills and all the colours you could want in a picture. The couple could even wave to their guests who could see them having their photos taken on the hill top.
When we returned their family and friends were playing croquet and having fun with the big ‘photo frame’ which they pretended to be in.
As this was a joining of two families in which one of them are from Sweden, they had printed out cute character sheets saying a few words about the family members.
For the guests wanting to leave their congratulations the couple made a canvas board and paints for people to paint or write what they wanted to it. This will be something Amy and Joel will keep forever as a momentum.
Amy’s Granddad said grace before they ate and the rest, as they say, is history!
