Nikola and Pavol’s Crete Wedding
I’m delighted to share this lovely wedding from crete captured by Paulina, a Greece destination wedding photographer.
Do tell us about the couple
Nikola and Pavol, a charming couple from Slovakia chose Crete to be the first stop of their lifetime journey. Hersonissos turned out to be their own little heaven and also for me, a destination wedding photographer, it was an incredible experience. I had a privilege to accompany them with the eye of my camera and capture the most unforgettable moments.
Please tell us a little bit about the day and how it went
The ceremony’s prelude took place in a luxurious hotel, where Nikola and Pavol were surrounded by scented rose petals – the same flowers which then enriched the bride’s wedding dress, a beautifully embellished Provenance gown that perfectly emphasised Nikola’s belly. After preparations, I followed the newlyweds on their way to the beach.
Nikola and Pavol couldn’t imagine this day without their best friends who came to Hersonissos with their two lovely kids. We were all overwhelmed by the scenery which was waiting for us on the beach. Floral decoration brought up the couple’s charm. The sun made the wedding rings glitter. Soothing sound of the sea was a perfect accompaniment to the marriage vows Nikola and Pavol made during the ceremony. A touching commitment was followed by placing the ring on each other’s fingers and a first passionate kiss. All these moments were truly moving.
After the ceremony, honeymooners – Nikola and Pavol celebrated the first hours of their marriage in a delightful setting – an exclusive restaurant with a splendid sea view. They let the moment last and spent a wonderful time with their friends.
Do tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Paulina and currently I live in Crete. I love mediterranean climate and the great light which makes the pictures incredibly bright and fresh. I’m with my camera every day. I love everyday photography, especially during travelling.
How would you describe your photography style?
My style is natural. I’m trying to be very district. If I’m invisible, I am able to catch all the natural emotions during your Wedding. The style of my work connects reportage, documentary photos, portraits and details pictures. I love natural light.
What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding day?
For preparations pictures I would highly suggest a bright and minimalistic room. It will be a great background! Also, a good tip is to ask your guests, or at least the closest persons, to wear the same colour clothes – it looks great in the pictures, for example a bride surrounded with her friends in light pink dresses.
