Delighted to feature the beautiful wedding of Nicola and Peter today captured by wedding photographer Stuart John Photography.
Nicola and Peter are originally from Hartlepool and have upped sticks to live and work in Doha, Qatar. They have their own gym out there and are probably the most motivated couple I’ve ever met. Great to work with and truly a great partnership both in marriage and life.
The big day
It was back to their roots for the happy couple who married at Wynyard Hall in Billingham, Cleveland. It’s a venue of exquisite character and history, a superb place to get married for sure.
The bride arrived to take up residency of the bridal suite and that in itself was akin to a self-contained apartment!
The ceremony was full of emotion and prior to that, commotion as the page boy George noticed that one ring had fallen off his silk cushion on the way down from the Bridal suite! Fortunately the staff rallied a search party as the groom stood wondering why his intended was delayed and the ring was found.
The weather was dry though a little windy outside and some of our chosen spots for photographs weren’t used because of the wind. One example was the group shot, we intended to do this at the rear of Wynyard Hall with the lake in the background, but switched to the front which was far more sheltered. Sadly I had no elevation for the photo so quickly drove the car round and stood on the roof!
A superb wedding breakfast was enjoyed by the guests and there was even some for the poor hungry photographers too as we created a slideshow of images to beamed onto the big screen.
In the evening a live band played a variety of tunes in what was the old orangery at the hall and now a great location for a party.
The drinks flowed and so too the food as guests enjoyed a suckling pig roast later in the evening.
A great day, great venue and great couple.
About the Photographer
I live in the Manchester area, Rochdale to be precise and have been photographing weddings for a couple of years now and loving every second. When I put the camera down I join my wife Tracey and hit the dance floor, we are keen Ballroom and Latin American dancers.
I remember being told by other professional photographers to leave weddings alone, too much pressure, too many variables, long hours and very hard work. They were right to some extent, long hours, hard work and variables for sure, but on the whole from my point of view they are simply fantastic occasions.
How would you describe your photography style?
I suppose I adopt a style for every wedding I do so I would describe my style as diverse. Each wedding is different and so too are the couples I meet. Some want magazine style shots, others candid or classic. However, most of the couples I shoot blend all styles and create some wonderful memories.
What did you love about the day?
The People. Peter and Nicola have a very close family and a strong group of friends who enjoyed the day and celebrations in the evening. They made the day special for the couple and it was great to be a part of it.
