Today we head off to the beautiful island of Mauritius, an ideal place for your honeymoon and also for your wedding! Caroline and Yannick had photos captured by local photographer Elie of Un Mariage Au Paradis.
Caroline and Yannick are French. They are from Briançon in the Alps.
They are modern and full of life and chose to stay and get married, not in a resort by the beach as most of newlyweds do, but in in Lakaz Chamarel Exclusive Lodge, a beautiful address of Mauritian ecotourism which combines refinement and green tourism. They stayed for one week in Mauritius.
They booked me a full day from 10 am to the Sunset, around 7pm.
We started by a small road trip in the South West Coast of Mauritius with several stops on different beautiful beaches, villages and interesting spots. We had lunch together in a small restaurant on the beach at Le Morne.
Then we come back to Chamarel to get prepared (make-up and hair). When the make-up is still perfect I do portraits of the bride before the wedding ceremony. It took place at 4pm at the hotel in front of a beautiful view over the mountain.
Then we went back on the beach near the hotel Lux le Morne to take pictures with the sunset.
I used to work as fashion and beauty photographer in Paris for 20 years, mostly for Marie-Claire magazine publishing group. I used to work a lot in Cape Town producing lifestyle and beauty pictures for Getty Images. And I discovered Mauritius where I live now with my family for 12 years. I love sport, scuba diving and all water sports. I enjoy reading a lot and listening to music.
My style is very simple, direct, funny. I love shooting people and being friendly with them. I know exactly what picture I want and how to get it quickly !
What did you love about the day?
The weather was perfect, the couple were full of life, creativity and very reactive. I had a lot of fun together and the day was too short!
