Today we feature the wedding of Lucy and Mike who got married by the sea! Their day was captured by wedding photographer Thomas Frost Photography.
Lucy and Mike are both old souls. They have been together for twelve years and have had two beautiful children together. This marriage was the icing on the cake for this beautiful young couple. They are both from Essex and this is where the wedding was held.
Overview of the day.
Lucy and Mike were married in Langton House, which was in a beautify setting for some gorgeous photos. We then moved to Thorpe Hall Golf Club where they held the reception and danced into the night. But in-between the two we managed to sneak off to the coast on the shore of Southend-on-Sea. We were able to get some lovely photos with them next to beech huts and on the beach.
Lucy and Mike had made this into a real family affair with friends making the decorations and Mike printing off the invites and other bits with his farther in-law. They had there children being the flower girl and page boy which they fulfilled beautifully and enjoyed every moment of it.
For the evening after the first dance they had booked my mobile studio. This was great for getting some different images with that studio quality. Everyone loved it! The kids were so happy to be dressing up and getting some snaps, even the big kids were mad for dressing up by the end of the night.
I am a professional photographer based in the South West of the UK, I cover weddings in this area but I do often travel, I have covered a couple of weddings in France this year and I have one is Italy next year. I have been shooting weddings for over seven years and I love it. The first was my sisters and since then I have not looked back, I cannot believe how lucky I am to share so many occasions that is so personal. When I am not covering weddings you will find me out surfing with friends, walking with my wife or just being as active as I can. I am an active, energetic and optimistic person.
How would you describe your photography style?
In one word, evolving. I always work closely with the couples that want to use me and we share Pinterest boards and ideas to get exactly what they want so it slightly changes. The overall style is always close to my own values of unobtrusive, friendly, natural and honest, documenting the day, as it happens in order to retell it with my own images. I want the couple to look back at the images and remember the emotions of that image not the posing; this is why I shoot with little direction and work quickly to keep it fresh and natural.
What did you love about the day?
The time that we spent on the beech together was fantastic. It allowed them to spend some quality time together and enjoy being husband and wife whilst I shot away from a distance. The sun was perfect and low and the beach was emptying out it could not have been any better.
