Today we feature the lovely wedding of Lisa and Tom captured by United Photography who are based in Surrey.
Lisa and Tom are very much in love which you can see through the pictures taken on the day. I sensed a touch of nerves from Tom but those were quickly brushed aside when Lisa walked down the aisle.
The day couldn’t have gone better and had a great buzz to it. It was towards the end of April and Spring was in full swing with wall to wall sunshine and and lots of happy people. The ceremony was held at The Hospital of St. Cross in Winchester, a magnificent church which I always love shooting in. The reception was held at Avington Park, one of favourite venues. The afternoon was spent on the lawns where drinks and nibbles were served. After the meal and speeches had finished I took the the couple off for 10 minutes to get some more intimate photos – this is always a good time, as the couple are totally relaxed and happy and the with the sun starting to go down you can get creative.
Having studied and qualified as a graphic designer and run a design studio, it soon became apparent how much photography would become so important to me.
I love taking pictures especially at weddings and events. I have three boys now and hopefully one of them will one day carry on the business in the future. I am a member of the WPJA Wedding Photojournalist Association and also Fearless Photographers.
I see myself as a story teller through pictures. Photojournal wedding photography is all about capturing the moment and passion of the day in a calm and unobtrusive way.
What did you love about the day?
Spring weddings are always great to shoot because of the type of light – the sun in the height of summer can sometimes be to harsh. But the thing I enjoyed most was the vibe of the day, Lisa, Tom and the guests had such a fab time. Avington Park always makes a great backdrop.
