An English Garden Wedding in York

I’m so excited so share this beautiful English Garden Wedding in York where Heather and Matthew got married. Their special day was captured by the talented Taylor & Porter.

From the bride, Heather: “We both met on a night out watching our local band over seven years ago. I introduced myself to Matthew whilst trying to avoid a conversation with a stranger! We got talking and a week later, Matthew asked me on our first date. During our Christmas holiday to New York, Matthew presented me with my Christmas present (we set a £10 budget) He had created a photo album which consisted of one significant photo from each year we had been together. He went on to explain how he wanted to fill the photo album full as we spent the rest of our lives together. And so… he got down on one knee (on the cold, wet, snowy ground in Central Park) and asked me to marry him! Of course… I said yes! During the ceremony we had two readings, one from my wonderful grandparents, which they read together, and one from my step-dad. Both meant so much and they are certainly a part of the ceremony that we will both never forget. A mixture of emotions came across us during the day from apprehension to excitement but I especially became overwhelmed during our first dance when I looked up to see a room full of our most loved family and friends. It was then I realised just how lucky we are to have such amazing people in our lives. A memory I will treasure forever!

Everyone says it all goes so fast on the day and they are right! Luckily we found the amazing Louise and Teo (Taylor and Porter) to capture the whole day. They were so brilliant from start to finish and we’d highly recommend them to anyone wanting genuine people who care about you and your day. Looking back through our beautiful film photographs, they caught moments throughout the day that just pass you by. These are moments that will forever be in our memory thanks to our very talented photographers! Our advice is to book everything in advance, and start doing all the extra bits as soon as you can – then in the weeks before the big day, enjoy it! I loved being organised and creating the vision. As a super organised person, I had moments of panic when I thought I had forgotten something vital but being organised and having a clear vision of what we wanted meant I got to enjoy most of the planning.”
