Gemma & Ed’s Coworth Park Wedding

Today we feature the lovely wedding of Gemma and Ed who tied the knot at Coworth Park and had their special day captured by West London based Wedding Photographer Douglas Fry.

Do tell us about the couple
Gemma and Ed are a very happy couple, and were full of expectation on the day, Ed was nervous…as he should be I think! Coworth Park however is a great venue and the girls had plenty of space in a very contemporary designed room to get ready. A short flight down a very elegant stairway leads to the room for the service is set with bouquets of flowers on white plinths and of course the friends and family.

About the Photographer – Douglas Fry
The day ran smoothly as the organisers had done a great job, it helps too that the whole day from preparation to dancing was all in one venue. We had time for the family photographs and even allowed time for Gemma and Ed to go for a stroll around the ornamental gardens for some extra photos before returning to the wedding breakfast and speeches. We found time too to go for another victory circuit around the grounds with the couple making the most of the evening light, getting back in time for the cake cutting and first dance.

Do tell us a little bit about yourself
I have been a wedding photographer for over ten years and still enjoy every aspect of the job, and treat each wedding as my first…I take great interest in each phase and photograph the couple and guests without flash, this allows me to be very discreet allowing guests to enjoy the day uninterrupted or feel uncomfortable about having a photographer and yet with current camera technology I can capture better images even throughout the evening in winter.

How would you describe your photography style?
I shoot in the reportage style but aim to make the photographs through considered composition, exposure and processing to achieve an elegance to the body of images and capture the happiness of the event.

What did you love about the day?
It was a happy wedding, there was a genuine feeling amongst all the family and friends that Ed and Gemma were meant for one another.
