We love showing off an engagement shoot, they are so fun, creative and unique to that couple. Today we have a lovely fun couple who are getting married in July 2015 and having a woodland themed wedding. The day was captured by Hermione McCosh, a London Wedding Photographer.
About the Couple:
They are so much fun to be around, in fact they actually met at University and lived together for a number of years before even getting together. What more can I say that describes them: they are thoughtful, good hearted, tea drinking, fun loving, kind, ambitious… and both doctors!
A little bit about the day and how it went
The engagement shoot was in a wood only half an hour from London (can you believe it?!). We did the photo shoot the morning of their engagement party. They are naturally easy and fun people, they led me through this wood to a particular tree that they called the c tree which is a walk they often did together. Their wedding is next July and will be at Wills parents house who live right next to the wood, of course there is going to be a woodland theme!
Do tell us a little bit about yourself
Hello! I’m Hermione, I grew up in the Lake District and after graduating from University I moved to Paris where I lived for four years. I did portraits of “You in Paris” using the cobbled roads, narrow alleyways and beautiful buildings as my backdrop. I moved to London in May 2014 where I am now based although I love to travel and i’m constantly living out of a suitcase. Next year I add Spain to my repertoire of countries that I have photographed weddings in. I have a dalmatian and I love going back to the Lake District to go on huge walks with her!
How would you describe your photography style?
I’m constantly evolving, there is always something new to learn. Anything and everything could be a potential photograph, it can be so exciting planning or anticipating that unique moment. I suppose my style is a mixture of spontaneity, capturing the moment and seeing the potential of something. Where ever possible I use natural light. I am heavily influenced by the earlier street photographers like Cartier-Bresson. I love improvising with objects that don’t seem at all photographable for example it could be a bough of a tree framing someone or a corrugated iron fence giving an interesting texture.
What did you love about the day?
I most loved being in the countryside, up until then 99% of my engagement shoots have been in an urban environment. The light filtering through the trees was perfect and of course they both created contagious fun which comes through in all of the photographs.
