Dean’s Court Estate Wedding

We feature the wedding of Melissa & Toby who got married 29th July 2017 at Dean’s Court Estate, Wimborne. The day was captured by Will Wareham Photo.

Melissa & Toby were married on the 29th July at the very grand and picturesque Deans Court Estate in Wimborne in Dorset. They both live and work in Hong Kong and travelled back to Toby’s home town in Wimborne to be married.

I travelled down to Wimborne the evening before the wedding to photograph a pre-wedding day meet-up and drinks at a restaurant in Wimborne called The Olive Branch where the bride & groom to be congregated with their family & friends whom had travelled in from as far afield as Australia, Singapore & Hong Kong to sip a few of the local Ale’s & Cider’s and to greet each other. On this quintessentially British Summertime weekend, in true fashion from the Friday evening onwards, the rain lashed down, but didn’t dampen their spirits.

A collective excitement and anticipation was apparent from the very start, and as the Wedding day started, I went to Deans Court Estate to photograph Melissa & her bridal party at Apple cottage.

It was a lovely time to witness with my camera as Melissa and her bridal party shared really nice personal moments, relaxing and enjoying the experience of getting ready for the ceremony. As the time for the ceremony approached Melissa put on her very beautiful dress which she had made herself with the help of one of her close friends. She looked so elegant, and as her father arrived to take her to her wedding, I could see the pride in his eyes. The umbrellas came out in force and like a very well executed pack they all made their way to Deans Court.

I ran through the rain like a frantic photojournalist, snapping every moment I could whilst mopping the rain from my lenses!

We arrived to a very grand ceremony room, packed out with all the wedding guests, Toby eagerly anticipating his bride Melissa alongside his best man. So many people filled the room, that on Melissa’s entry with her father, the crowd parted to form the aisle and the pure joy which emanated from the faces of Toby and Melissa when they first locked eyes was priceless. Their ceremony was full of good feeling, very relaxed, everywhere I turned the camera, faces had big smiles. The rain continued heartily throughout the entire day, so the pack mentality of all was something to behold, all remaining close and intimate. I gathered everyone with their brollies for a photo at the front of the house after the ceremony, were everyone embraced true brit spirit and their smiles outshone the rain.

The reception was held in a marquee in the grounds, and we were all treated to excellent speeches from Melissa’s father, Toby & his best man, with not a dry eye in the house and glasses fully charged. Soon the evening was upon us and the party in full swing, the Dj keeping the guests entertained with all the classics and even a cool set on the decks by Toby the groom and a drum & bass session on Melissa’s request that took the partying to the next level into the early hours. Such a lively fun filled wedding day, and a party to remember.
