Today we feature a lovely boho style wedding of Magnus and Maggy who has their special day captured by Charmaine Gittens.
Do tell us about the couple:
Maggy is an artist based in Iceland who uses various mediums to create large paintings and other art. She is inspired by horses, nature and her workshop is based in Reykjavik called Fonts where she hosts design classes and creates her work. Magnus is four times worlds strongest man and multiple winner of other various strongman competitions as well as highland games. Magnus operates a gym in Reykjavik called the Nest of the Giants and is very popular. The couple are both native Icelanders and they chose to have a sunflower summer style wedding.
Please tell us a little bit about the day and how it went:
On the morning of the wedding day I arrived at the brides home to first of all do her wedding makeup as I am also a professional wedding makeup artist. After this I photographed all of Maggy’s wonderful creative elements which contributed to their wedding theme which consisted of sunflowers, yellow tones and lots of handmade signs. Magnus had chosen to ride his motorbike to church for the wedding ceremony, this is something completely different and the couple even rode away from the church to a local forest where we met up to take some post ceremony romantic shots.
Do tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am a professional wedding photographer and makeup artist based in Scotland. I have my own studio where clients can come and meet me to discuss their wedding requirements and if required have their makeup trial done there too. Much of my inspiration comes from nature, travel and art. On my days off I’m usually out running with my dogs or horse riding when I can.
How would you describe your photography style?
Definitely natural, classic-modern and fresh. Many of my clients say that I am relaxing to be around so I would have to say fun and easy going too!
What did you love about the day?
There was so much to love about that day! The natural light was absolutely fantastic for photography. During early evening I really enjoyed photographing Maggy and Magnus in the forest by the river as it was truly magical.
