About the couple
Ashley and Ewan are probably the most laid back couple I’ve had the good fortune to photograph…the most important thing on the day was for them and everyone else there to have a blast of a party.
The day and how it went
From the manic preparation with Ashley, the 2 mums and her friends, through the ceremony, the reception and the party at night, the location and fortunately the weather…it was simply a privilege to be part of a really special, enjoyable day.
The Photographer – Tom Cairns
I “retired” from corporate life almost 5 years ago to follow my passion for photography. I’ve always had a creative side to me that I am so lucky to now be able to express through my work and it’s lead to me being able to travel across Europe, the United States and the Far East working for my clients….often ask why I didn’t “retire” earlier
How would you describe your photography style?
I wouldn’t like to pigeon hole myself with a particular style, but with every assignment, it has to be fun, chilled and memorable….My way of working is to capture the intimate, candid moments of the individual, the couple or the group. By interacting and being with my clients in that moment and seeing the shot I want to get, I feel it allows me to provide my clients with truly personal images.
As an aside, weddings aren’t the only part of my business. I work with a few of the top modelling agencies in Scotland plus I do a lot of other commercial work…. and I bring this experience when I photograph weddings. I do what I can to make every couples set of wedding images as unique as I can, so clients tell me that having this varied set of skills really makes a difference.
What did you love about the day?
For me the day was about a couple being with their friends and family celebrating togetherness. There were no dramas or fallout’s, just fun, enjoyment and happiness.
