Beautiful Photography from James McMillan
James is a very experienced wedding and portrait photographer who set up Hand In Hand Weddings over 10 years ago to provide a dedicated quality wedding service for the decerning client. He has worked all over the world and still has a passion for photography that shines through in his pictures. From the morning prep right through to the evening fun he tells a flowing story of your special day in a relaxed and natural way. Weddings are about people and that is what james is good at. Whether it is a candid moment or getting a group to relax the images speak for themselves. You will notice on the day that although James works extremely hard to get the shots he still enjoys his work. Look at the websites and enjoy the fruits of his labours.
Here is what recent wedding couples say about James:
Alex & Maybel Oliveira 25 April 2015 Very talented and extremely reliable
“James is extremely talented and a very reliable professional. We were looking for a photographer to capture the true essence of our wedding and we came across James on the internet. We had a chat and saw some of James’previous work and decided to go ahead. The result was even better than we could ever expect. James did an amazing job and was very reliable through the whole process. Definitely recommend and we will be reaching out to James for any other photography requirements we may have in the future.”
Kim & Martin Janse van Rensburg 21 March 2015 Conscientious, easy going, fun & thoughtful
“It was important to us that we felt comfortable with our photographer & that we had photos that were unique to us;
we met so many photographers that offered their own run-of-the-mill poses without really listening to what we wanted.
James was like a breath of fresh air. We would highly recommend him.”
My style is 'reportage' or documentary which means trying to be unobtrusive and photograph what happens without getting in the way. To be honest all weddings end up with an element of stage management with confetti shots and cake cutting but getting natural shots in between gives a happy and relaxed feel to the day. I am used to all levels of stage management when needed but we all still love that natural little shot that no-one knew you were taking.
I still feel emotional whenever I hear the vows although I got married over 20 years ago but the big thing for me is still that it is an exciting day. Everyone is happy, even the bride and groom once they have got over the nerves, and so everyone is smiling. To a portrait photographer having a captive audience of happy people to snap away at is heaven!
I am happy to travel for work.
