Beautiful Photography from Shane or Kelly
If I could have imagined the best job in the world when I was younger it may have been a footballer!! Seriously though that was never going to happen, although I’m not that bad. I loved art and all things included, I loved traveling to new places, I loved meeting every variety of people, and when I combined all this love I became immersed into capturing these. It was my journey entwined with others and photography became an amazing way to document this.
My first camera (back in 1997) was a Pentax MZ50 35mm, it was stylish and lightweight with 2 great lenses. I spent my weekends photographing with various iso ilford black and white films before heading off home to develop the negatives, exposing, fixing, dodging and burning (all technical terms, but so much fun) with fantastic results.
5 years later I moved across to digital, although sceptical up until that time I never believed that it could replace my SLR. But with slight persuasion I made a leap of faith. This led me to streamlining processing time allowing me to experiment and see the results instantly.
With the developments (excuse the pun!) in digital cameras and post processing technology today I feel almost limitless, its not about what I can’t do but what I can do both before, during and after.
I’d like to also mention that in-between these years (19 of them altogether) I’m now married to my childhood sweetheart and obviously beautiful wife Kelly (who along with me loves being creative, oh and owns a Bridal Shop www.yorkshirebridalgallery.co.uk) and we have 2 fantastic boys Declan (13) and Bradley (11).
I love documenting your journey, viewing the day from an artistic and creative perspective, its intense photo-blogging in the best way ever! (in my opinion obviously!) not only that once we've completed photographing and finish editing we start producing the most unique albums to tell your story, exactly the way it was. You definitely have to meet the sample albums and me of course in the studio or over a coffee (tea for me though, its a Yorkshire thing).
Those laughs, smiles, tears, kisses, holding hands, chatting guests, a little tipple, speeches (which are always amusing), table arrangements, having a good old natter with parent's and grandparent's, that moment when you first see each other.
Always meet and sit down with the photographer. The first rule above everything else is being comfortable with them (even having group hugs).
