I hardly ever photograph a bouquet toss but Katherine decided at the last minute without any prior warning that she was going to do a quick bouquet toss with her new husband and his brother lifting her off the ground. Thankfully I was in the right position to grab a few frames. Here is one the favourites from the bouquet toss.

This is from a recent wedding I photographed at Belair House in Dulwich, London. The groom Ruairidh (on the left) had been pacing around, sweating and wringing his hands with nerves waiting for his bride Melanie to arrive. It was an unbearably hot day and he’d had a drink or two, so his nerves were exacerbated. While he and his Best Man / Ushers waited for Melanie, one of his brothers looked over and gave him the thumbs up, just to check that he was okay…

It’s a really touching moment – one of Mengyuan’s bridesmaids and best friend was soon to be leaving the UK and returning to Japan. Rather than a traditional boquet toss, Mengyuan decided to present the boquet to her as a parting gift.
