Delighted to share this lovely English intimate wedding captured by wedding photographer Gautam Narayanan.

Kerry and Dave’s wedding day was a real delight to be a part of. We were blessed with a precious (and increasingly rare!) sunny day therefore the scene was set perfectly from the outset. This charming couple tied the knot at the idyllic “Swan Inn” near Lake Windermere, an intimate and ever so English setting that contributed towards a personal day full of warmth and harmony. Kerry looked a dream in her fitted gown of lace while Dave was resplendent all in blue. Their delightful daughter complimented her mum in her own white dress with a full, netted skirt. The touches of lace at the sleeves, reflecting the bride’s full lace dress was a subtle touch that worked beautifully. The bridesmaid’s were clad in full skirted frocks emblazoned with a cheerful and summery pattern of bold flowers which matched the British summer feel of the day rather magically while the traditional bouquets of peach and white completed the picture to perfection.

The ceremony itself was held in one of the “Swan Inn’s” function rooms and sunlight flooded in through the glass double doors where the bride and groom were to make their vows in front of. The atmosphere in the room was positively brimming with joy as friends and family looked on with good will.

Afterwards, a drinks reception was held on the lawn which backed onto the tranquil River Leven and this was then followed with a boat trip down nearby Lake Windermere. This was an unusual and memorable way to seal the day which was thoroughly enjoyed by all and was certainly one of my personal highlights of the day.

The couple shots later on reflect Kerry and Dave’s true happiness in their wedding vows. They were a delight to photograph indeed. Capturing such intense emotions, both posed and unposed is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. A couple needs to feel completely comfortable with you so that no matter how awkward they may normally feel (this is usually the groom!) in front of the camera, for this all important day, they are relaxed enough to be able to let their true feelings come through. A pre-wedding shoot can work wonders with helping to establish this relationship of ease and trust between the wedding photographer and bride and groom to be. My style of photography is contemporary, tailored to the brief of the client – a mixture of posed and natural shots are usually the requirements of the day.
