French Town Wedding in Le Croisic

We feature a lovely French Town Wedding in Le Croisic just outside Nice. The day was captured by Adam Riley.

Do tell us a little bit about yourself

I’m Adam, a documentary wedding photographer for the past 6 years. I live in Cheshire, in the North West of England, but travel all over to capture weddings.

How would you describe your photography style?

My wedding photography is all about storytelling. I don’t want to intrude on the couple or their guests, or influence where they stand, act or feel. I let the day flow naturally and capture it unfolding in my unique style.

Do tell us about the couple and the day

Astrid and James got married in the stunning French town of Le Croisic just outside of Nice. Astrid is from the town, and her beautiful family home is just a few doors from the historic Eglise Notre Dame De Pitie Church. James is from Ireland, and Irish family and friends all made the journey to France for this special celebration.

The day was gloriously sunny, and after the gorgeous church service, Astrid and James were greeted like royalty by all their cheering guests. A short and walk through the town to the coast, a beach front marquee was awaiting, along with lots of canapés and champagne / Guinness. On arrival, each guests was given a bespoke tattoo (not permanent I might add), and the celebrations began. When the French and Irish get together, it seems they really know how to party, dancing under the stars continued way into the night, an epic day indeed!

What did you love about the day?

A super relaxed couple, the day was focused on enjoying time with family and friends, and having one heck of a good time!

A testimonial from the bride

“I work in photography, so choosing our wedding photographer was not an easy task. Adam understood exactly what we were looking for – discretion, “documentary” style photography, a sense of humour, capturing the soul of the day without it feeling forced and always a smile on his face with a knack for consistently being in the right place at the right moment. A lot of people say the same thing but Adam is a real gem!”

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding day?

Do your wedding day your way, you don’t have to emulate weddings blogs or magazines, or conform to traditions. Get married how you want, with who you want watching. Enjoy every moment of it.
